p38 has made me a better driver!

But they still suffer HGF.

Not any more than any other car, HGF is often a symptom of over-heating from cracked liners. My mate's 2004 Landcruiser has been through two heads and about five head gaskets.

PS he laughed when I bought my P38, which has been utterly reliable unlike his one owner from new FSH LC. I've had the last laugh - and I do more miles than him!

I've never had HGF on any car, it's a problem that comes up time and time again on the Rover V8 as does cam failure.

I've owned a Rover SD1 3500SE, a Rover SD1 Vitesse, three V8 Range Rovers and loads of hacks with Rover V8s dropped in and have yet to suffer a single head gasket failure - I have seen a few heavily worn cams though - none in my own cars (yet) although my p38 has 140K miles on it - if the cam isn't shot I'd be surprised.
