Thanks for the link, just got a set of coils and will report on effectiveness when fitted. At last I'll be able to get my Rangie back on the road instead of it lying in the workshop!

Mmm coincidently, exactly the same price as fixing my air springs.... as detailed here
A piece of cake, and still as the manafacturer designed and without any of the insurance problems.......
 
Yesterday I was on an off road trip on my converted RR and it work great. Some time I heard the suspension hit the bump stops but I never got stock. It was was a great experience on mud.

They do P38 and Classics and they're lifetime warranty.

Can I just ask, when you have done the conversion, i know you have to tell your insurance but do you also have to inform VOSA as its a modification????

just wondering cos Im thinking of doing it to my 93 classic

hi, iv just fitte a kit to my range rover with the eas override cable. but im still getting slow 35 mile on th info panel any ideas what iv done wrong. it was second hand the kit but like new. only thing i never did to mine that the car i tookit off was disconect the ride hight sensors are you meant to???

More interestingly, can you tell us what actually makes the difference between GenIIs and IIIs or even Arnotts and say Dunlop or some generic? Is it the piston design, damping rate, progressive vs linear and so on? Also see from you sig you're on Bilsteins so I'm guessing you like a hard set-up or is it infact quite comfy too?
 
ive got 2 p38s one with spring conversion an one with air an ive got to be quite honest i prefer the coil one as i got no worrys about burstin a bag off roadin an to be it handles better an i prefer the ride height too
 
My kit came from Paddock (was simple and easy to fit), I wanted to lower the ride hieght, paddock could not supply different springs so I thought I would try Britpart who informed me that they did not supply Paddock with the springs I have (mine are black, britpart are yellow) so left it. Tbh the rangie handles great I just wanted to lower it so my Dad (74) could get in it easier, heard all the stories about stability and handling, a complete load of crap, mine handles just fine and is very stable even in strong cross winds. Simple if you want less worry get springs, if you want to keep the design eathos keep the EAS. The proof for me is I would do it again without a second thought, I think the coils are great. Have heard that strutmaster is meant to be the best conversion but more expensive. Don't understand this sniping by the EAS brigade, its not thier car were converting. As long as we keep em running and were happy who cares.

Usually, i can do 10% discount for bulletin board members on all my stuff such as underbody protection for P38. You can search i'm alone to do that kind of the stuff for that vehicle.

Gen 2 and Gen3 from Arnott are both an upgrade over Dunlop design : crimpled ring on upper and lower base and LIFETIME warranty.

During 3 years, i had to open only 4-5 warranty cases from hard offroaders (the kind that do the Croisière Blanche or the Raid Bleu in France, search in Google) and Arnott Customer Service is top notch.
A photo of defective item and they send you a replacement by UPS 2 days at no cost.

To say it simply in terms of road behaviour and confort.

Gen2 = same spring rate as OEM Dunlop

Gen3 = harder in highway height and softer in standard and offroad height
Gen3 is also longer in highway height so it can cope with no cost recalibration lifts (1 inch) or extreme lifts (2 inches) that use longer height sensor rods, longer shocks
 
Piston design also looks slightly different between the Gen 2 and Dunlop OEM. I thought I read somewhere that the Gen 2 gives a slightly rising spring rate whearas the Dunlop actually appears to give a falling rate. Certainly the ride and handling is better IMO on the Arnott's. I also have two P38's, one on Gen 2's and the other on old tired Dunlops.

I don't believe so. Try some new Dunlop and tell me where's the difference in ride with Gen2's.

Ride and handling are always better on new airspring vs old tired Dunlops. Arnotts never get tired at worst they break and Arnott give you some new ones.:cool:

My customers for Arnott usually are on the 2nd set of airsprings. How it is possible ? OEM Dunlops last pretty well (8-12 years) but 2nd market Dunlops tend to be crap.

I've seen some porous after 3 or 4 years. They may be much cheaper than Arnotts but you get what you pay for:D
