p38 climate control unit ?

afternoon all , going through my lists of issues and another one has cropped up on my display on the heater unit it has brought up a book icon ? no i have checked the manual and it says refer to dealer .
now before i take out a third mortgage and do this does anyone have any ideas wot i can try first i have noticed it doesnt seem to blow out cold air when the aircon is on could it be i just need to re gas and it will go away .

The system throws a hissy fit at the slightest thing and throws the book icon up. This could be due to many things like blend/dist motors but in your case it sounds like you may be low on coolant as it's not very cold or the air con compressor is not running. What you could do is lift the bonnet and get someone to turn the aircon on in the car (engine running) and you listen to see if the comp runs. There is a n easy fix if it doesn't which involves taking the washer out of the spindle.

It might also be worth checking all the fuses relating to your air con. The owners book should tell you which they are.

Also, have you noticed if the air flow or temp has changed to only one footwell or only the screen etc?

brill guys it was a fuse however i have changed the fuse it works for a bit hen pops it ?
