P38, '97, manual diesel DSE suspension fault

So, driving home, and the suspension button on dash lights up, "EAS fault" comes on dash. Nose goes up, tail goes down, lower on drivers side. I nurse it home, and park up. Drivers rear is definitely lower than the other side. So, it's an air fault of some kind, maybe a bag has gone? First question... where is the best place on the rear chassis to jack it up? I need to check the bag, and get some soapy water on the lines and valves. Next question, how do I get the EAS pump to run so I've got pressure to be able to spot bubbles? I've had a look online, and replacing a bag looks do-able, so I'm going to give it a go if it turns out that's what the issue is, but does anyone have any words of advice?
And...no, I won't be swapping it to springs, it's staying as god (or at least Landrover) intended lol.
 
If needed I jack mine under the towbar bracket. Bearing in mind my towbar bracket isn't a swan neck!!o_O
You'll need software to read/clear any faults;)

No good, my towbar IS a swan neck.
Havent got anything to read or clear faults, guess I'll have to pay someone else for that.

Ah, actually I think I bought some form of EAS software do-hicky and a cable from someone on here when I first got the Tank, have to dig it out I guess.
 
Jack under the chassis side rails, DON'T get under it unless you have also put an axle stand under the chassis side rail.
Changing the airbags is fairly easy unless the pins are rusted in and sometimes a crowbar is needed to free the top end. Airbags should be replaced in pairs.
If you bought the EAS cable from me, you should have a CD with my airbag replacement guide on it as well as the EAS software.
If the exhaust is blowing, it may have melted an air pipe.

I found it easier if the pins are rusted in, the crowbar will shear off what is left of them.;)
 
My pins were rusted solid, biught an 18 inch thin chisel from local ironmonger £5.88 thin ish one, worked a treat..
Love the local ironmonger, sells tap washers individually, nuts and bolts to, loads cheaper than b and q etc as well
 
Airbags are really easy of you follow the many how to's on this forum, even if you havent done one before you should change a pair in about an hour with a cuo of tea between sides.
 
So, decided to wait until I could get some decent axle stands, 3 tonne rated each, that will do lol! Crawled around underneath, checking air lines, the compressor, the air tank... bit confused about what there are multiple lines running off the compressor, colour coded, but only one running out the back of the air tank? Anyhoo, checked the airbag, and all the rest, and... no leak. Sat there scratching my head for a bit, then decided to run the vehicle to see if that would get the comp running and show me a leak...still nothing. So then I vaguely recall someone saying that, if all else fails, try running the vehicle for 10 mins with the door open, then jumping in, shutting the door and cycling the suspension.... and it worked! Bloody thing has a twisted sense of humour, everything works perfectly, levels out spot on at each level. So, it seems the gremlins who fix things when I'm not looking have struck again.... although the blowers they fixed have stopped working again... time to go fettling around under the dash and see if I can fix them now.
 
Connector behind left hand a post can give issues. Also the pins in the connector for the driver pack. Both work checking. You need to order a cable and EAS unlock software off @Datatek if you haven't already got them.
