Perform the resync as Wammers says above....
Usually for the post 99 it is just a case of putting it in the ignition and starting the car....but my '99 DSE - I had to Lock using the key and press the Lock button, then Unlock using the key and press the Unlock button, then start the car....
Reg date was 30th Sept 1999 - not sure on build date!Just depends when it was made and when it was registered. Could be first registered 99 but a 98 model. So it won't have the self sync. Mine was made 98 registered 99 and has self sync. Might be wrong but think the ones that come up with key fob batteries low are self sync. Because they have the coil in the ignition barrel. But might be wrong about that someone will correct me i am sure.

Well, for what it's worth, mine is a MY98, registered Jul/98 and the syncing works just by inserting the key in the ignition. I know it because last weekend I removed the batteries from the fob and it synchronized that way. I had no luck with the lock/push lock button, unlock/push unlock button method.
