Hey guys,

Does anyone know what over drive options there are for my landy?
It's sweet off-road or about town but is seriously lacking on the motorway.
1984 land rover 110 pick up 2.5L NA diesel LT77 :D

Cheers!!!

Is it the na diesel? If so its worth checking which ratio transfer box it has. Ultimately more gearing will reduce power / gradient climbing ability on fast roads.

Looking at your avatar, if those are the tyres, maybe 205 75 R16? If so, you would get a bit of extra speed from 7.50R 16, which is the standard tyre for that landrover.

Try and check the actual diameters, they vary widely even within sizes. Cant see you would go far wrong with Rangemaster.
The ones on there are 205 R16C 8PR 110/1080

As I say, try actually measuring them, and compare with a range of actual 7.50 R16s. Even an extra inch on diameter is more than an extra three inches travel on each revolution.
I've seen a lot of discussion on 7.50's or 235/85's
And the 235's being a bit thicker, have you had any experience with them?

I stay as thin as possible, for a variety of reasons, to do with use and reliability. Your vehicle was designed for the loads that 7.50R16s will impose on the suspension and steering.

I have several sets of tyres for my Ninety, to permit different usage. One set are Fedima Maxima 7.50R16. They are about maximum diameter you can get under the arch, but barely wider than 7inches. Look at them in my members vehicles thread if you like. They are pretty quiet on the road too, not much tread in the middle.
But, like I said, the Rangemaster were standard on that.
