cat b can't go back on the road

Sorry ... CAT C ... B is written off unrepairable ...

Cat C means it's written off for salvaged repairable as I'm considered an enthusiast .. he took into account things like the unique winch mount, the modifications like box sills etc and decided I knew what I was doing. It doesn't need sending to DVLA or anything and I can start work on it now .. just about to after a spot of lunch ..

It'll be on the road within .. well .. soon - ish ..

Hopefully a fortnight or three, can't work on it this weekend as camping at a Halloween party. It won't (never has been) bright, blingy and shiny, but it will have some new bits and it will run again .. Only problem he foresees, after chatting, is the electrics but I have an electrician mate who might help with that ..

Basically, should have said, Cat C is normally older vehicles that are uneconomical to repair and return to owner in good condition. They are easy to put back on the road if you aren't worried about looks and can afford the hours of work necessary ..

LOL, might be close Dave ..

Seats out, carpets out, seats being cleaned, carpets being junked. Battery off, probably (hah!!) needs replacing, everywhere else looks good, just messy and smelly!

Engine bay has so many nooks and crannies, and silt gets in them all!

Still got to get the Sump, gearboxes and diff plugs out, but it's cold outside and my chest is a bit unhappy .. So I came in for a warm, food but I'll be out again in 20 mins.

Right looking forward to seeing this one go, three weeks tops I reckon, depends on my chest and 'stuff' ..

Why break it?

None of the panels are straight, and who'd buy anything worth money off it knowing it's been submerged?

IMHO the engine should be fine, as should the gear and transfer boxes and diffs .. only issue, I reckon, will be the electrics, but it's not an auto and doesn't have computers .. jeez it never even had electric mirrors or window winders ...

It'll be running within a couple of weeks or so for minimal outlay apart from replacement nuts and bolts, oils and greases, filters and other replaceables and a bit of effort ...

Yeah about your laptop *if* the silt didnt make it into the HDD you should be able to pop it out give it a clean and it may be alright.

That said im assuming it was running when you sank?
