Thanks for this, any idea where that piece starts and ends. I can put joiners on but would like full runs if possible ( without going up all the way into the engine bay). Makes me wonder if the ones over the tank are probably the same..

I'm planning on removing them and copying the old pipe. Might be fooling myself of the ease of that?
Got to admit mate, If I thought how hard something might be, I'd never get started.
Usually, probably like an idiot, I take it to bits then start scratching my head when it's too late to go back..

Ones behind tank are common to go. If it was farm vehicle it's likely.
See if you can see bit behind there with torch. Always best be sure with brakes they heavy old beasts

The pipes are fitted in the factory before the body goes onto the chassis. I doubt it's possible to do a full length identical run for the near side pipe which is what I intended to do. I ended up with a joint just ahead of the fuel tank and the run across the back was fed in and bent as it went in. It is possible with the offside I think, I didn't need to do that one as it was rust free. I posted photo's of the part I replaced which would give you an idea of the complexity of the bends.

My pipes don't run behind the fuel tank. Got the earlier single exhaust. Hoping it might be easier!
Main thing that worries me is the clips. They look utterly £_@&ed. That's one of the reasons I have been putting the job off.

Probably two weeks before I can get back to it, so gives me a chance to get everything together. Pipe, fittings, caliper seal kit, (might even splash out on some silver caliper paint), pads.
What are the clips you're on about..? Can I get hold of new ones before I start.

They run to one side of the tank on the twin pipe, even so I ended up dropping the tank for access.

No rule saying you can only have 2 RR's just ask @ukadamwest. If you get them all same colour you may even be able to trick mrs Bagshot into thinking you only have 2

You'll need to be a magician to get the pipe across the back in place without removing the tank for access to the fixing clips.Me too, I'm hoping then that I can deal with the whole lot without taking that damn tank out..!!

Like a trade plate you can swap over? Didn't know you were allowed two on same reg.
I think, you are better off pulling tank and replacing. If you put joins either side you won't need to drop tank next time, but next time will be sooner the more joins you have
Resigned to the thought that it's all coming out now. The car doesn't look like it has ever been over grass never mind off road, but being stood who knows what state the pipes are behind the tank...Like a trade plate you can swap over? Didn't know you were allowed two on same reg.
