Just read through that one, thanks, that was funny. I'll be sure to keep my fingers off the keyboard when I get to sorting those out. Some people,

like to eat spring rolls crying to Jeremy Kyle because of the cost of TV licenses while they wait for the warranty to run out on their L405.
Looks nice, plenty for you to clean. Don't worry about head gaskets, liners and empty header tanks - they are the norm for you now on. Good luck
It is an old battery, just something to get it turning over, thanks I'll try a better one.Often get gearbox fault with a low battery so might just be a bad connection or bad earth somewhere.
Battery Megastore Hankook MF31-1000 and it will spin like a top. Gearbox fault is common with low battery voltage, it can also trigger ABS and SRS faults. It is an old battery, just something to get it turning over, thanks I'll try a better one.
Thanks for that..
Same battery for V8 as diesel? Try a swap with the doozle first or jump leads youl know for sure then

Started digging in today. First job rear brakes. Took it for a slow crawl around the local carpark next door and checked everything working, or not. Found metal brake pipe rusted through on OS above rear wheel, just in the gap between chassis and body, pouring fluid all over the airbag. Hate doing brake pipes to start with and this one looks a p## to get to. Looking further along, I can see more rust on the others carrying on forward under the body towards the tank, so looks like a roll of pipe...and start bending.!
The calipers were just big balls of rust, but came apart and off... eventually. Piston must be moving because the disc has fresh rubbing marks from today. I have new discs that came with the car so they will go on, but think the calipers could clean up and reseal. But this is only the first side..At least then you know they're done ... how are the caliper pistons ?

Had that pipe go on one of my P38's, replaced with Cupro Nickel. It's an horrible job as the retaining clips acros the back above the axle will most likely be rusted away too.Started digging in today. First job rear brakes. Don't forget the pics as you go, before and afters
Chances are that if I take both rears off completely, I will overhaul them in the shed out of the weather. Will be my first set that I completely do so will take pics as I go.New ones seem the way to go as you have them ... re-doing calipers in winter is a faff ...
