I think I would do as you say with the grease or cutting compound to catch the swarf, if it was used until nearly through and removed and cleaned then finished it may reduce the chance of getting anything in the bore.
Ant has probably had the heads off and back on by now anyway .
 
Just tap on the address bar once you've got what you want, it will highlight blue,
then press ctrl+c ......
when replying in thread just press ctrl+v......at least that's how I do it.;)
 
The way i copy a link is to click on the address bar as myfirst says so it turns blue but then i right click and select copy and then right click and paste it where you want it, either or i guess.
That is the sort of thing though
