This battery seems to get recommended quite a lot on here and as my battery has almost given up the ghost I was thinking of ordering one from here: Numax CXV31MF Sealed Leisure Battery 12V 110Ah 1000MCA 500 Cycles XV31MF - Leisure Batteries - Numax Leisure Batteries

Can anyone please confirm that these batteries fit with no modifications as the Positive and Negative posts are the opposite way around on the battery that I have fitted at the moment although there does seem to be a fair bit of length on the cables? Do not want to order a battery to find it dont fit and then have to send it back.

Cheers

I have one of These Its the 1000A not the 1100A version.

And you do know that the link you posted is a leisure battery or deep cycle battery and not a starting battery right?

Thanks mate. Yeah I read the spec on it earlier and realise that it is a leisure battery but have read on here that it is also good for starting as it has 1000CCA. I know nowt about batteries hence why I asked before buying. I see the one that you have linked to also has 1000CCA so maybe I will go for that one instead as I do not really leave anything running on my landy so maybe the leisure one is not needed.

Cheers

well pointed out, i didnt read it properly!

I know you CAN use them for starting but when i was in the market for a new battery i was advised against using a deep cycle battery for starting!?

Anyone confirm or deny this?

I think thats the general rule for leisure batteries but these ones claim to be good for deep cycle and starting. They are dual purpose apparently.

I'm sure that would fit fine if you just have one battery. From my experience 94 300tdi, the battery box has a deeper bit it he middle than at the edges. Fitting one battery in there, youve got space for quite a large lump of a battery. The spec on that particular one is great also.

However, Ive not long ago split charged mine with two of the slightly smaller ones from the same group of batteries. Mine are the cxv=x ones. Only 86amp hour. They work brilliantly so far. But were a bit of a squeeze to get both in height wise. The one you're looking at is taller than mine, so if you're ever planning on a dual battery set up, you might like to go for one that's not as tall.
