Just got back from the weekend in castleton and can say, Gemsdad certainly is booked into the B&B, saw his name and a few others already booked in!

I'll put up a quick video of the camping field and entrance shortly. Had a while in the pub, and can say it's a great place, good beer, good coffees/food, but might be a tad small for the whole load of us at once, so a marquee would definitely be the way to go, in my opinion ..

Very handy for a breakfast or quick pint though .. ;)

Couple of good lanes close by, but reduced to Restricted Byway status just recently with brand new signs! Taken a few videos and notes of some other new (to me) lanes that seemed to have had little traffic on them as they're unclassified roads, marked as unsuitable for motor vehicle .. but very good for more road-oriented Landies and mostly non-scratchy!!

It's a great area for the camp, not in the centre of everything, but close enough for anything in The Peaks! I think a large, boisterous, noisy party wouldn't offend anyone ..:)

why not do the yorkshire dales and north yorkshire moors
in a weekend some good lanes up there.
just a thoueght guys.

'cos we're doing The Peaks ...

Unless you want to arrange something for 50+ Land rovers and 120+ people, doing non-scratchy lanes as well as extreme and variations of, split into small groups doing different lanes at different times with a decent campsite close to a pub and the lanes!

Oh, and laning only on one day 'cos the saturday night meeting is just as important as the laning ... and people are coming to it from all over UK.

Well, feckin' noobie comes along, obviously not having read the feckin' thread or it's offshoots and seen the work already done for it and thinks we're gonna change it 'cos it's probably closer to his doorstep. Feckin cheek ...

Got no time for ****wits today .. been laning after driving home with the caravan from castleton. Had a great weekend, but nackered now .. laptop's on while I nod off on the settee watching some old git fettle boats .. :)
