The cars here get vandalised all the time which is why I don't have a newer version of anything for these streets: keyed, smashed (as per mine, as you can tell I'm still bereft) and one dude knocked all the wing mirrors off cars on Great Titchfield Street... so yeah, there are gangs, dealers, drunks and bored kids out there doing stuff alongside the Royal Mail drivers.... *clears throat*.
And you actually pay a premium to live there, sod that.

Yes, the engine is a 1.8 K-series (I think, still learning) petrol. Can't do diesel in London.

Isn't that from Robot Wars?:D

I wish. Controlled Parking Zone. Found in most areas of London now, including where my parents live. £300+ pa for a residents permit. If you don't have one, you have to put visitors vouchers in the windscreen for every day you want to park there, or the council fine you.

I've been a resident here for at least 15 years so that's cool. And Westminster has NO permits for visitors. Happily, my residents parking is a lot less than that of your folks...

That is what Gency says too. Westminster council are much less money grabbing than most of the others.
My folks live in Ealing, Labour council, they will fleece you blind for anything you want to do. :(

I have heard this. But a lovely place all the same, Ealing. Green & historic.

I'm so glad I moved away from the South East in 99. I couldn't be doing, messing about with local parking taxes. IMO we pay far to much tax already, without shelling out to park the ****ing car too.

I park right in front of my house for free. :p

**weeps** I'm happy for you. **weeps harder** Maybe someday that'll happen to me...

It is a nice place, but it does irritate me a bit that I can't visit my parents, and leave a car in the road I grew up in, without wedging the council up.
I am an expert on the single yellows, when and where, but I hear you.

I wouldn't go as far as moving to Cornwall to get free parking, the weather is foul, the locals will hate you, and there is nothing to do, so @Nodge68 has to spend all his time on LZ! :D

No single yellows in my folks road. White dashed parking bays, you have to be within the bay, no wheels overlapping the line. And no permit or voucher, no parking, or a fine.

Wow, that's so bad! I would be thinking of how to get a permit without affecting car registration but of course that would be illegal... It's your own forced Park And Walk. That ain't right.

I have no idea if he goes surfing or not. But I used to, I lived just down the coast from him for 24 years.
Awww, you're both just puppies. Sounds idyllic. I don't know what car(s) you own(ed)? I really hope I've bought the right thing. Otherwise it's back to Toyota... nice but dim.
