Good afternoon,

Like many people the current weather has made me think that I should have a Land Rover to use in the sticky / slippery stuff.

I run a Jaguar S-type 4.2 V8 and an XK coupe. I am thinking of changing the S type for a Disco or a Range Rover so intend browsing this forum to find out the pitfalls / advantages of each model.

Initially I welcome general comments [provided they are not too rude]

Cheers

Pete

Hello Pete. :welcome2:

Always dangerous to ask for general comments on here :D :D

Have you test driven either of them, cos I think you'll find them a bit different to yr Jag ;)

Surprisingly the S-type is not too bad. The XK is a bit skittish though.

I have owned a very early Range Rover at one point and have been driven in Freelanders and Discoverys but not current Range Rover.
The idea is to get a bit of a 'feel' for them so that I have a little bit of knowledge before I start looking.

I'm a member of the XKEC and find that there is always plenty of info bandied about and I guess this forum will be no different:D

If you've owned an early Rangie then at least you've got an idea what the difference between a Jag and a Rangie will be ;) I expect current Rangies will handle a lot better.

Think you maybe in for a shock if you expect this forum to be the same as XKEC tho ;)
I guess it kinda depends on whether or not you get the Landrover thing tho ;)
