Bought an old 1988 Defender 90 as a second fun car. Other car a Subaru WRX so thought the contrast in drives would be a bit of fun! Defender low milage but nothing eletrical seems to work well! Next to no lights working on dashboard, etc so likely to be looking for wisdom and advice shortly! And the oil leaks... somewhat scary!

It's a Landy, get used to it! BUT be warned, it will get under your skin and drive you insane once you get bitten ...

:welcome2: to LZ btw.

new steering box being fitted, injector leak, gasket leak, and diff leaks. A lot of leaks! Only done 81000 though. Must get horrible disco wheels changed!

But I bet you can fix them all for the cost of main service (without parts) on the Scooby

Bloody Land Rovers!!!!

If they didn't exist you'd have to hit a 'reliable' (?) 4x4 a lot with a hammer to get the same reliability :D

Despite not having all the stress of living with a Series or a 'Bender, all the additional stress of worrying if your VCU is gonna pack up, or the doors will actually come off when wet, or even someone being nice about a Freelander (irony), certainly makes Land Rover ownership stressful!

;)
