you mean the bearing cap?
very good condition!

Thats the one! ha, struggling for words im shattered! done my shopping list from turner, just debating what i should do with my heads, if i should rebuild my self, get machine shop to or just buy some stage 1 heads. If machine shop do its £450 including the VAT but thats just cleaning stripping and reassembling and grinding the valves, tryna work out best option

And that £450 isnt money i have spare lol

The hardest part of it all is the cleaning, if anything ide get that done if your trying to cut down the work.
The heads are super easy to do, worst part is doing the re-lap on the valves .. plenty of vids on youtube.
thats about it other than checking the parts over.

that last cap can be a fecker to get off lol

Agreed! but i will not give in! never! will get that off tomorrow, gonna take all of it up to work on sat and clean it all up and inspect. is it worth getting my bores measured up, look fine to me no markings on liners, so not to sure on that one.

Can anyone recommend assembly lube and where to buy, turner got some but seen a more pasty one used on the videos.

real steel has all the bits, ask for simon, tell him john with the aussie 4.4 sent you and go through what you are doing and he can sort you out.

I would defo get the bores measure and de-glazed at the very least or you are wasting your time with the rest of it mate. think hard on the cam too, no point pushing the power up the rev range too far to gain 20 hp in a landy really.

dont gibe up mate, its a lot of work but your right be persistant and get it done while the weather is good too. if you decide to do the heads yurself I would get the rocker arms and shafts from turners as they measure them and do matched sets. on the day you are going to do it put them throught he dishwasher and then get on it straight away so they dont rust

Cheers will do, there prices look decent aswell ! do you know if the prices are including or excluding VAT on there web site?

not sure tbh as I ended up kind just giving up trying to budget in the end :p

they dont do rocker arms or shafts as they couldnt get quality they were happy with, turners emply a bloke just measuring rocker arms to get decent sets made up lol so you may have to mix and match some parts :)

Think i will keep my arms they appear decent and only heard horror story's when swoping tbh . Will give them a call thursday morning as got the morning off get that all orderd up and sent my way :) still need to get my bloody calliper bolt off! my dad attacked it for 45odd mins n got no where so my turn tomorrow, thats gonna be a bigger achievement that stripping the engine

Not to much happened today, got the crank out, used sump bolts in it to create some grip ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21370192680.120954.jpg

Then decided to try and clean the block, tryed for about a hour with degreaser spray and a few selection of brushes, got bored and gave up took it to petrol station and just pressure washed the crap out of it literally! in the process of doing that most of it ended up on me :/, no pics sorry! then took home and dryer with towels and sun, then filled it with oil to flush out water through oil strainer and squirted oil in every where i could apart from water jacket. Then went through the bores with a paper towel soaked in oil. Loaded my boot with the pistons to take into work and clean tomorrow :)
