Hmmm on his other post it was said he had a TDi, guess he may feel a tad peed off with the 19J

Vanbratsky, the 19J is a good little engine if maintained right, keep the oils topped up right and get a good read up on it.

My experiance of a 19J...

I was saying that it should be but yes they did only start in 1990, but shorley if I was to buy a car and the salesman said if you wait two months you can have a decent engine or if you want it now you can have the **** one! I would of waited?

Depends - maybe, back in 1990, a 2.5TD only cost £12.50 while the new shiny 200Tdi would set you back £19.99. That's a lot of Mars bars you could buy with the difference.

Yeah my 1990 110 was originally a 19j. You also have to remember (sible?) that back then, nobody knew how bad the 19j was going to turn out - there was no way of knowing how badly they would cope after 150,000 miles and 20 years. Back then, there wouldn't have been a lot of difference between a brand new TD and a brand new Tdi, aside from a few bhp and a few mpg. ;)
