Hi all,

I have a DVD player in the car wired up to 2 screens in the rear headrests. Audio is provided by way of infra-red units (the transmitter is in the rear ashtray section).

Instead of trying to create a way of playing MP3's or plugging in an external source, getting SATNAV etc I was thinking it might be better to have a single system replace the DVD player that does all the above. I can then have a screen put in the dash (a bit like the oem satnav) to control/view everything.

Does anyone know of an off the shelf system like this at all? :)

I have the full toys for the headrest screens as originally fitted. I took the analog out and replaced with a digital tuner for the TV. I also have the original sat nav with the front screen.
First I wouldn't bother fitting an orignal screen to the front (although I have one) the resolution is poor for anything more than Mk3 sat nav and out of date. I use a Garmin for navigation although it is fun to have the original one set to a mile out just for reference. And if you get bored have the two systems working together. The best sat nav is to have the wife sat there with a map!

At the back you can do anything. Lots of stuff available. Have seen some (front) two din units fitted with screens that slide out and up with all in kit (inc sat nav??) to also display rear screens maybee thats the way to go. But don't watch TV on the move!!
