So, after the dust and crap has gone out of the rangy, who's up for a trip to Morocco easter time in 2016?

Gives you plenty of time to prep your vehicle and save up :)

Sid's up for it again, we're keeping the p38 and prepping it even better this time.. bigger engine

Cheers
Adam

Mmm i may be up for this.I presume you have experience at these sort of things :D would be a first time for us but something i would love to do.

i Have just flicked through the thread on Morocco 2014 so i have answer my question:D:D.looks like you had an amazing time.

Well its about 700 days away but if I'm still alive and kicking and you would put up with me again count me in. Was wondering whether to put one on the board for 2015 as well to make it an annual thing. The seat riser has come a bit loose but should have time to fix it by then!!.

200... Seems you only over the hill from us, we're in Halifax.

Oldun... Would love to go every year but finances don't permit.

I was going to work out what it cost to do this years trip in fuel and ferries etc, post it on here so those interested can get a rough guestimate. Plenty time to save up :)

Cheers

sounds good, ive changed everything in my landy since last time and i was thinking of going in 2016, what sort of time of year are you thinking?

I'm going the easter bank holiday 2016 returning on Sunday the 5th April, this time I'll probably be going for 2.5-3 weeks, that way I can have some food in France and Spain on the way down and not rush as much as last time.

Also, I only cleaned the sand out of Larry this weekend, its just stopped coming through the cooling system so I'm not dune bashing again, having said that if you have not done any of the dunes you should they are fun/agony.

Easter time here too.

Seems we busted one of the new shockers in the rear too. We've left the sand in the rangy, something to remind Sid of while he drives to work in it :)

I've been thinking about the logistics, time and cost of doing a Morocco trip and have come to the sad conclusion that the most efficient method is to fly to Marakesh (excuse the spelling) and rent a Toyota Landcruiser for a week.
The Landcruiser could be picked up at the airport and Zagora (where the fun starts) is less than a days drive away.
Done it the long way a couple of years ago and got fed up with spending day after day on bloody motorways.

Hi all, count me in for 2016. Might even squeeze something in for 2015 Oldun.
I have started to get my Defender prepared already. New clutch, Replaced all the gaskets in the transfer box so the people behind shouldn't get sprayed with oil, new tires, Extension speaker for the CB, might hear what's going on this time round. Must sort something out in the back. Don't want to smash all my soups, juices and Bolognese sauces this time round.

Don't be fooled by our blog etc. It was our first time for a couple of us and a case of the blind leading the blind. But we had a great time. If it doesn't bother you getting lost in the desert, getting stuck and towing or digging out vehicles I'm sure you will enjoy it. We did.

Well I'm going, just need to get the welder out now and do a pre-emptive on Larry, the dog on the roof is holding out well and the body panels have been replace. Also the mirror is on, headlamp back in place and I tracked the rear door issues and indicator issues down to a bad earth I think. Bloody Disco's to much to go wong.....
