Got the fridge today, have it running in my barn right now, seems that the Waeco stuff is pretty tough. Its a 240v one so it has a compressor in it so I will run it off an inverter with a second battery and just switch it off at night or long periods when the 110 is not running.

That is the one I will probably go for. The other are too expensive for the amount I would use it for.

That was a bargain that you got! So is it worth getting one?

I am getting a 2000w inverter from BB on here, so could run it.

It was 17c in my barn last night, and within 30 mins it was freezing, so yeah on the face of it, seems pretty good. It can hold roughly 48 cans of coke/ beer/ bottles as it's quite deep.

Took my Defender in for its pollution control test this morning. ( French Equivalent to the MOT) Pleased to report it passed with only one advisory, that was a little leak from one of the injectors which just needed tightening up.

Just got to buy bread and cheese as bottled water and soup already in the 110 - which itself has been ready a long time and after been in the far corner of the barn it is now finding itself parked closer and closer to the barn door.

If you remember from the last trip I was IT inept and took few if any photos - will make a bigger effort this time and post some on my return.

James, I think the Terrafirma one is an electro thermal one and does not have a compressor in it. It does have a nice insulation jacket though.

Thanks. Yeah, I am confused because it doesn't mention a compressor, but says it will freeze from 50 deg.

Seems a lot of money (£440) for one that wouldn't work in hot temps.

On another topic my 90 should be running this weekend and back on the road the weekend after. Roll on Morocco...

Cool, stuff mate, get those bugs worked out eh? If you ever can get them all worked out on Land Rovers?
I fitted a rev counter today, bit of a faff about, but got there in the end, bough some of those chunky bad ass bumperettes today, and ordered my low level roof rack from some company in Yorkshire and they will weld on two mounts for my spares, high lift jack mount, brackets for my lightbar and a tab for the cb ariel for £250 ish, I'm going up there the last Friday in Nov to get it fitted.
Winch bumper and winch being fitted next Wednesday, then on to the EGR removal and a remap.

What's going to be the threshold of warnings not to go to Morocco at Easter? As regards ISIS type activity or any other attacks of that nature on non nationals? As I said the other week the Sinai desert is out of bounds on Egypt now because of this.

Should we look at an alternative yet, just as I intend on going somewhere at Easter, don't want to build my 110 just to go on the occasional green lane trip lol

My limit would be isis attacks/invasion of the country (unlikely) im not worried about ebola. I dobt intend on having relations with locals so ill be fine :)

Back up eastern europe. Northern europe. Southern europe :)

I'm not pulling out unless something major happens.

Not sure where else we could go. Spanish mountains or Portugal?

Hi folkes, I'm in Morocco at the moment. Been here a couple of weeks and travelled quite a few of the pistes near the Algerian border. There's quite a few police and army check points but everyone very friendly and helpful, we've had no trouble at all. The army have closed a couple of the runs very near or that lead to the Algerian border and seem very determined not to let ISIS in or get any hold in the country.

Obviously keep an eye on things as your trip gets nearer but at the moment it all seems good from my experience.

Hope this helps

Simon

Currently only a general threat of terrorism. Road travel sounds more risky than terrorism at the moment.

The rout I would like to take, is through the Atlas mountains and down along the Plague Blanche which is on the Atlantic side It's away from the Algerian board. So hopefully should be away from the hot spots unless the situation changes dramatically.
