Mislabelled brake parts

Some month ago I bought rear disks, pads and calipers from Pad***k spares.
Wrong pads arrived but when I came to fit the calipers I fitted them as labelled 'L' and 'R' cast on the calipers. However, that meant that the bleed nipple was below the slave cylinder. Brakes therefore spongy. Removed them and fitted them incorrectly (Left label on right etc) - now work fine and are the same way as the original Lucus ones. Obviously a batch of poorly made calipers!!! Pad***k have been most unhelpful on what is a serious safety issue. Even with photographic evidence they refuse to admit an error or accept that other purchasers need to be advised....

I can appreciate that you expect the labels to be correct but did you not look at them before fitting to check they were correct?
Paddock dont actually make or refurb them.
Ive know similar things happen from dealers and manufacturers as well.

ive never been aware they are marked l or r ,bleed nipple at the top and part number denote which side they are ,i suggest you learn more before working on your car ,no reasonable mechanic would fit calipers with nipples at the bottom whatever label may or may not be there

james i agree with you in principle,but everyone has to learn somewhere.if the op did not know about fitting them then ok,but i would still expect the parts to be correctly labelled.

I bought a calliper from them once, and the casting on it was so poor i decided not to use it, and ended up ebaying it and getting a genuine LR one for more money..
