Brakes not right! Spongy when engine running

Yup!

If it was me go for the least expensive options first and adopt a process of elimination. How often do folks jump in and replace the most expensive part fist, only for it to turn out to be something cheap and simple.

seen some people say they've rolled em. but i think it's probably due to it being worn anyway.

also you said you were going to rebuild the mc anyway if it didn't work.. so what's to lose?

Thankyou for the replies guys.

Ive just bought new TRW master cylinder rebuild kit to stick in.

And then vented discs, so that the brand new spacers that were removed out of my new AP Lockheed calipers will go back in.

That way I'll rule out any doubts in my mind, and she needs new discs anyway.

Do you guys think thats a good plan?

I have the the same problem,
Complete new brake system, calipers, pads, lines ,servo. Everything changed
front and rear disc brakes.
Changed the master cylinder 3 times! with brand new MS's.
EZ bleeder 5 or 6 times, reverse bled 5 or 6 times and traditional bleeding at least a dozen times.
STILL inconsistent brake pedal, sometimes hard, sometimes soft, when its soft I have to pump twice to get a good pedal.
I have given up and have gotten used to driving as is.

Air must be getting in your system somere, retrace your steps and get a friend to help.

Had same problem on my wife's 110 for a few years,done everything all new calipers discs etc.
In at irb for some work wife mentioned it to Ian,he did a smoke test on it,an
d he found the servo had split either side of its mounting bracket showed me a video of smoke coming out in two places. Hurrah prob solved at last.

Is something pushing the pistons back into the calipers? If you had a knackered wheel bearing, would there be sufficient play for a wobbling brake disc to push the pads and pistons back into the caliper? This could be magnified when you use it off road.
Could be worth checking the wheel bearings when you next jack the wheels up.
