Because I had similar probs with battery light and oil light staying on and I fidled with the wires to me starter motor and it cured it....dunno why but it did....

Right fook of with mayo ****.
Disconect yer alternator and see if the oil light goes out, because I think it's got a fault now with the diode pack and it's using the oil light to back feed across the bulb to earth, if the bulb was ok in the alt light it would use that one.
Just a thought.

Aye, definitely sounds like a short or earth bonding prob. Before I rewired me deepender, I had a wierd problem where when I hit the brakes, me fog light came on as well and me foglight warning light on the dash. Looked at circuit diagram and worked out which earth bonding point was goosed to cause it to short back through the fog light circuit. Who on earth thought of the idea of running an earth back into the loom?
Electrics are a bastoored just when you think you have it whipped, it turns and fooks orf, over the hill and way down the road wif it's little legs goin like fook, givin yer the two fingers.
