A man has died in an accident during an organised event for off-road vehicles.
The 23-year-old man, from West Lothian, sustained fatal injuries during the event at Hillfoot Farm, Coupar Angus, at around 1pm on Sunday.
Officers from Tayside Police responded to the call.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said a helicopter was dispatched to rush the man to hospital, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
He said: "The casualty was trapped inside the vehicle.
"The Ninewells Hospital trauma team was in attendance, a double-paramedic ambulance was sent out and a helimed was dispatched but stood down as the casualty was pronounced life extinct at the scene."
Inquiries are ongoing and a report is to be sent to the procurator fiscal.
The man's next of kin have been informed.
The incident happened during an event organised by the Tay 4x4 Off-Road Club.

Even when we are having Fun, or working on our vehicles accidents do happen and often people are lucky and just get slightly hurt, but accasionaly the situation is worse!

Sounds pretty rough. Thoughts are with his family, friends and the rest of the club.
Glad to see they're covered by MSA and I hope it doesn't go on to hurt more people.

It was a Whitbread vehicle. Apparently the vehicle stood upto the damage very well, a testament to the construction, but unfortunately, when somebody rolls that many times down the side of a steep slope, the outcome is rarely positive. Condolences to the family.
