LR-Parts APP

Wow, OK, so I never thought that a single thread would make me join a forum, but I guess seeing a nice big bold red sentence calling our app "shyte" has forced my hand.

So, nearly 2 years, 40,000 downloads and 2,000 mobile orders later, one person receives parts he claims are no good and suddenly our lovingly crafted app is rubbish.

10,000 part numbers catalogued with full categorisation, fitment data and illustrations to help navigate tricky areas with a basket and checkout. That's what the app is.

Nothing. That's what the app costs.

If an app crashes on you, fair enough. If an app deletes everything off your iphone and renders it unusable, fair enough. But an app being criticised for a product quality issue? I bought a faulty hard drive off the amazon app the other day but I wouldn't go onto a hard drive forum and tell people that the Amazon app is shyte.
Sorry if I come across a bit precious over my app, but it took me long enough to conceive and build.

Alternatively, p.145 of LRO August 2011. Peter Skilton gives a 5 month usage review of our free app, right next to an inclinometer app that costs 69p.

oh, and in response to customer comments there is an android version of it too now, downloaded nearly 10,000 times.

no worries I thought it was useful too but i`m guessing by the feedback that people have been stung by them before or someone who was on here previously was a bit of a c**k with spamming stuff like this.

This is a LR forum where we post GOOD&BAD. If the products you sell are no good that's not my fault it's yours.

I had the most simple of products that should be easy to copy!!

My experience was bad with your company and all you can do is slag me off, a really sorry this happend to you and all that wouldn't of gone a miss! But no, my company is the bull*cks and any negative feedback is bull*cks.

Was a while ago so bare with me. But from memory I used the app to order
Throttle and speedo cable for my 90 and they turned up in all makes 4x4 and not Britpart so I was happy. Went to fit them and speedo needed a grinder to make the square drive to fit in tranny (no I didn't do it). And the throttle cable was too short!!
There was too much sleeve over the cable which would cause it to be on half throttle.
I went to British parts in Stevenage and ordered the same parts, they had them in stock and actually FITTED.

My other issue with LRPARTS was there was no where to send items back (didn't look hard I will say). I put it down as a loss and a lesson

And your sure they were correct parts , the reason I say this is because when I had my 90 there were differnt types and even I was Unsure, thee was a one length type and a two Piece so I wonder if you might of orderd the weong type that's all ?? So did you get there telephone number and check or get refund ???

No they were the right parts ordered but just didn't fit. The tranny is one size on all models. And speedo you may be right??
But ordered same from Britpart and it they both fitted.
I may be that I was unlucky and had a bad picker or bad batch I don't know.
And I didn't try for a refund as they were less than £20 for both and didn't want to go round the houses for it. Sending items back and all that

Ps I forgot to say I know what it's like in those situations . If it were me I would of been on the phone ripping someone head off , if you had done that and sorted it you might of not had such a bad grudge , I wonder if lr will as a good will gift send you a Voucher ?????????

I don't think I slagged you off once. Read it again. My post and this thread is about an app. Someone on this forum slagged off my app, so I put forward an argument as to why I felt this was unjustified and they have since graciously edited the post. That is all.

I don't begrudge them, just won't use them as I have British parts round the corner where I can look at the product and have a easy customer care, they exchange faulty parts with no problems.

It can do as you can let them know there is a problem and if they take pride /Responsibility it will therefore stop others having the grief not everyone uses forums anyway enough said.
