Acquired a replacement rear tub and body sides for the 110 resto/rebuild. Its in great shape but has a couple of areas of concern.

The LH and RH rear corner stiffeners in the body sides have rusted. The RH is worse than the LH:

This is not listed as a replacable/spare part in the original LR parts list. However, it looks like YRM have a replacement for this available.
There appears to be a few blind solid rivets to drill out and replace, but has anyone replaced these?

Next up is the front B pillar lowers. They are both corroded:

Anyone tackled this before? Whats the best method of repair here?

Any and all suggestions most welcome.

I’ve done the front pillars. You need to drill out the spot welds to get the old part off. Replacements are available from YRM. They recommend installing these using structural adhesive, obviously as most of us don’t have access to an aluminum spot welder !! I bought some epoxy though as it’s much cheaper than structural adhesive, and the fixings for the door latch and bottom door cill etc also hold everything in place. I also made plastic washers from an old oil container to separate the aluminium and steel parts when I put it back together, as that’s what caused the corrosion in your pics in the first place.

The corner panels are just surface rust from the pictures and do not need replacement. Just give them a good rub down, treat with rust converter, and then prime and paint.

The b pillar repair is detailed in the yrm workshop Section along with the floor and seatbelt mount repair (what I need which I why am aware of it) they do all the panels and the workshop guide takes you through the process. LINK

The LH side is OK and recoverable. However, the RH side is what we used to designate BER - Beyond Economical Repair.

Here's some piccys:

It aint pretty!

YRM have the replacement bits (Link: Brackets) so someone has done it. I think its a quesiton of drilling the solid rivets...and given this one is such a mess I need to just crack on and sort it.

If you are in West Dorset we should plan a bulk purchase! YRM site is not easy to navigate and finding stuff not always easy...there are quite a few things my data head wants to change...but its a great resource and I know my credit card is heading their way in due course.

I would remove the stuck bolt and get a wire wheel on it before decideing it is BER. you may find a lot of the mess is the bolt and washer rather than the bracket. But if it is the YRM panel is likly to be what you want and you then need to decide if you want to replace with solid rivet or pop rivets.

I am midlands based but I completely agree about the ease of use of their website! However I will say they are fantastic on the phone. I could not for the life of me find the front tub seatbelt bracket repair panels on the website, phoned them up saying "I want this panel i don't believe it is something you don't do", and they gave me the part number and the workshop number for the guide to fitting!

Agree. They are a great company to deal with. I got some stuff off them early doors of them starting up and they were brilliant. I’m glad they haven’t lost that touch.
