maybe i don't then....... among the many jobs i have had i worked in mayland as a mechanic and on the chicken farm on the way to mundon lol
so when i need someone to have a look at the fron of dashes yard i can ask you

Dashes yard i remeber when his dad ran that place fook i recon he would have a fit if he saw it now (mind you never was the tidiest of places) but has some very usfull stuff

aye you could ask his dad if he had a bit for your mower, he'd pop round to one of the sheds for a few mins and he'd come back with the exact thing..... god knows how he did it!
i am going to have to get down there for some steel plate soon, i'm sure i saw some chequer plate sitting out the front recently........

He new where every thing was in that place remember the walk way down the middle of the ****e pile towering above you?, went in there a while ago neede some 2" angle he showed me where it was it was a pile of rust in a rusty box lol

Ok im going home to bed now few hours kip back to workshop in morning see you all back here tomorrow evening and if anyone can think of where i can get some lowered springs from?

Yes, famous four got them fitted to my disco. they are -1"
I dont use my disco offroad but I do carry a lot of heavy gear and I do a lot of road miles. the lowered spring make the world of difference to the ride quality and visually you can hardly notice the drop.
There are some other companies that make a -2" drop, extreme engineering I think

From experience the best thing I did to aid towing wasn't lifting, lowering or moving the suspension or ride height, it was fitting HD springs all round. Improved the ride overall, effectively lifted (when empty) by about ~40mm 'cos there is now no droop from standard softish springs, but when loaded and towing the caravan it sits at normal height, nice and level.
One issue we still had was the tow plate bottoming out on 'speed humps' . that's been solved by grinding off the lowest run of holes giving us 2" more and no issues since. I'd guess that lowering the springs would mean the tow hitch won't pull at the right height, which is pretty crucial for a safe, steady load.
I've never heard of anyone actually lowering the springs on a Disco ..
My recommendation is not to do anything to start with, try towing with no mods at all, you migh be surprised how good the Disco is! If you need to do anything get Heavy Duty springs fitted, or spring assisters, like 2" plastic bungs you put in between the coils.
Lowering the suspension might bring more grief than it's worth.

there are places you can buy -1 and -2 inch springs, but i aint gona tel you where from cus its the daftest thing i ever heard
