As a start, you could blow into the expansion tank, as I suggested earlier. I’ve found a couple of leaks very quickly that way.
Sooo... as some of you pointed out it may well be the expansion bottle leaking... it would appear you where correct! Even from those tiny weeny little splits around the neck of the bottle I have fluid leaking from there... Obviously very very slowly, but there nonetheless. I cleaned and dried the bottle initially, and over the weekend happned to look at it and the top of the bottle is covered in red coolant.

It's surprising how much fluid can escape a very small crack when it's under pressure.
