Hi,

My 02 l322 TD6 vogue has had a few sound issues.

Initially I thought my parrot unit may have been causing the problem but I have disconnected it and still no joy.

The complete loss of sound has occurred over a few weeks, recently I could turn the radio on and off and this would cure the problem but now just eerie silence on radio\cd\sat nav and tape.

I've checked the amp area (no water ingress, connections appear fine), I've also disconnected the battery for 15 mins but no joy.

I fear the amp is shot but I'd rather be 100% before buying a new unit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

Do you have one of them gizmos that detect a signal and then turns the sound off on your system, and when you finished on the phone (no more interference) it turns the sound back on?

Hi,

No, it's a professionally installed parrot ck3100 car\hands free kit.

I've disconnected it so I'm assuming I can rule that out.

Thanks

You sure that one or more of the pins have not corroded off on the connectors to the box behind the trim in the left hand side of the boot? Hard to see unless you look very closely.

Hi,

I'm assuming you mean the 3 multipin connectors that go into the top of the amp\dsp?

Thanks

Sounds like the ones, I didn't know it was an amp, when it fails the screen goes completely or partially blank, the radio stops working and so does the phone, Satnav etc. I found one pin totaly corroded off on the car I looked at and several others not making a good connection. I bypassed the pin concerned, cleaned the rest of the pins and it all sprang to life.:)

I remeber reading somewhere about the audio system being dragged down by a one of the systems on the bus.my memory is a bit sketchy now but its something to do with the fibre optic repeaters maybee.

Thanks, I did find the culprit I think, the smaller of the 3 connectors into the amp was showing signs of corrosion.

Thanks for all your help.
