Keycode Lockout ....BECMfault?

Bit of a problem here....Get hold of the lockset code from Mtechuk for the BECM..the engine ECU is taught the code from the BECM when requested, so is more easily interchangeable. The fob no. on the BECM parameters consists of 3 sets of 3 numbers
e.g. 123 456 789 and these can be converted to give the lockset code (14 digits). As posted before, armed with your log book and I.D.-get down the stealers and ask them to get you the code for your vehicle. When you get it, if it is different to the one gleaned from your BECM, chances are the units, together with all locks have been changed at some time. However, if the keys and the BECM etc. work as they should..then no need to worry. If you wish to order additional keys at any time, you will have to quote the lockset code given by Mtechuk and not your VIN number together with the key no. (1,2 or 3) that you need.
Sounds complicated, but read what I have said..any queries, send me a PM.
Hope all goes well after the refit.:behindsofa:

righty john, the guru of the electrofunkery,(yes i'm buttering you up for summat!!!) how would i find out if i have key 1 2 or 3, i only have one key, i will be installing electric memory seats soon, once i get the seat loom, i'm not really that worried about having more than 1 key but its handy for if i loose the key etc. does the becm have to be read to get the key number or will i be able to tell from key serial number?

the becm is the cars original(or at least has the original coding) as i got the eka code from the dealer!

cheers

Key 1 is a very dark grey..almost black. Key 2 is a much lighter shade of grey, key 3, I think is blue (Not sure).
I take it the label is missing from the back of your fob.

The EKA is completely different from the Lockset Code which would look like.... A106128400603% (Yes..% on the end)

What key serial no. are you referring to Gav.?
Obviously when you have memory seats fitted, you can programme 2 seat & mirror settings, say for yourself and one for 'Er Indoors. When say key 1 is used, everything will move to your settings and if key 2 is used, they would move to her settings.

Dunno about electrickery guru, can't get up to too much mischief with a paintbrush!!!:violin::violin::violin:

trick is to make a complete hash of it, they dont ask you again then!!! i will have a look at the fob, it has a label on it, i just wondered if it was unique!

My key has a small sticker on the back, opposite end to where the keyring goes. It has a CE logo, 0682, circle with ! in the centre and on the bottom line..HUF/CEL Key 1.

Usually the sticky label wears or falls off in time.

i think thats what mine says or something similar. key is not with me at the moment. so i'd just need to order the key 2 then. cool!

Thanx chaps, just got in from work so i`m gonna set to it now.
Becm has what looks like the original vin number written on it (SALLFAMJ3TA342229) and the eka code so i may be able to order a new key from that or fob at least.
Anyway gotta go , i want to hear the v8 rumble again:)

i went and started mine up today, had a quick listen to exhaust, took it to end of road and back, it needed a bit of charge in battery you see!!!!!

its the truth, i wouldnt drive to the end of the road just to satisfy my urge to hear the v8 engine. i must say it does sound stronger than the old engine!!
