Yes AA or Rac. Didn"t think of that. Join up & a couple of days later ring them & tell them my brakes have packed in:rolleyes:.
Thanks for the idea guys.

Leave it a week and you'll be fine......Its you they insure not the car...I only bought the car that morning and didn't want to drive it back:rolleyes:

Right I can get AA cover for £78 & RAC for £72 both of which will bring my Disco home, any reccomendations on which is the better company to go with, or dosen"t it matter ?
The plan is get her back to my house & drive her round to the local garage about 3/4 of a mile in low box & see what she fails the mot on then I can decide whether she"s worth keeping or not.

Just a thought. Have a look at your bank account details. In a bored moment, I had a look at mine and found I had AA cover included in it. Had it for years & never new. Luckily, only time I needed it, someone else in the car had cover. And thats another point. If you need to move the car, make sure you've got a passenger with cover.

I thought AA covered the car, but RAC covers the person, so if you have a mate who is in the RAC and will make the trip with you, there would be no need for you to join. Where are you going from and to with it?
I have been in the RAC for years and always had a good service from them.

LOL, all the talk of which is best etc etc .. he only wants the cover for one pick-up .. just get the cheapest that will recover the vehicle home!

Even if it costs £100 it's saved you £240 already!!

RAC do a month to month for around a tenner that's what Ive got any how. There usually outside a supermarket or something doing a deal. So just wait 2 days and then get it recovered that's what I did when I brought a car and I knew it was a none runner. They where going to recover me but I found the problem, a dodgy rotor arm and luckily had a spare with me. So rang them back and didn't use them.

Thanks for all the help guys. I am going to join the RAC today (£72) then get the Disco recovered next week. I"ll drive her a few hundred yards off the caravan site then ring them up & tell them the brakes have failed !
Next step will be the dreaded MOT & find out exactly how much (if any) she has suffered from being used to launch my boat. Apart from the brakes mechanically she seems pretty good will just have to see how much "tin worm" she has underneath.
Fingers crossed & thanks all again.
