as long as its clean fuel ,i never seen a td5 or any other engine suffer from pre-filling fuel filter, lz has covered most faults have you seen that yet

Well that's what I thought and was always taught, to fill up the filter with fresh fuel before replacing. Not sure what you mean in regards to have I seen lz covering most faults? Sorry to be thick!

fuel pump doesn't draw any extra power the fuel pump is a very robust item considering it needs to pump fuel full time under many different circumstances like warm return fuel it doesn't take that long for the sound to fade out
you can also use the purge cycle out on the road if one was to run out fuel

if you think it harms the fuel pump you need to weight in the costs a couple of purge cycles every service to the cost of an injector or injectors

unsure what your issue is but having small digs you might want to grow up mate
just say you run out of fuel on the side of the road you walk to the nearest fuel station and fill a small clean jerry can ...fuel may look clean would you pour this into the fuel filter
or would you take full advantage of the td5 purge program ?

i think you were the first to have a problem, your making up issues to try and prove a position you shouldnt have started

did start any thing I was trying to point out there is a right and wrong way
I geuss it just a case of people do things differently to others

first off no you didnt putting fresh clean oil is more than ok
and theres no advantage

not to you ,but in the real world i have, and in this real world if people change their oils more frequently than service schedules often dictate, using unfiltered oil but fresh from the container engine cleanliness are increased

yes I know and myself in this real world more than likely has the cleanest oil on a td5 than many people on this forum ... I mean because I work in the industry of purchasing oil cheaper through contacts and when my oil starts turning its changed however my engine also gets a nice work out considering I also run LPG so the engine does not have any easy life
pouring unfiltered engine oil into an engine is the whole point of not pouring unfiltered oil into a filter
just because the oil looks golden and clear how sure this oil does not have any debri that will cause severe harm to a high tolerance fine component

but from experience what would I know

No need - my new previously un-opened can of oil is on its first pre-filter, ready for second run through Thursday/Friday prior to laboratory analysis of a representative sample before bearing pre-fill on Saturday......or something like that....... ?? Cheers - and just remember that all the following flak is entirely your fault for leading me astray.......;-) A

I see some sense of humour or lack of knowledge combined with **** sense of humour and allot of lack of experience ..has any one here had a brand new sample of oil sent to the lab before ? or given the fact how many of you have actually sent a oil to a lab before ?
