I know we’ve taken the **** a bit tonight but quite honestly some of your replies are really quite rude, mostly directed at jamesmartin for some reason. Telling people to “get out more” and “wake up” isn’t really very helpful, it just makes you look like a dick.
Clean “new” oil is clean oil, if you feel the need to further filter it to satisfy your OCD then fine but unless you’re doing it in a sterile environment and with some fairly sophisticated filtering equipment it’s probably a total waste of time and may even contaminate otherwise clean oil.
I do apologise for those comments if it offends you only. but james martin called me out so I replied... it appears that I may of questioned his knowledge in another post has upset him .
my typing is **** it sounds better in person that it does in text ....i am more of a hands on person.. I rebuild engines / turbos/ transmissions on a daily basis as well as repairs and part change outs or parts rebuild and servicing
some of the equipment I work on actually cost more than our homes ..so if they recommend not to prefill filters you listen to this is why most fuel injection systems have a priming sequence of some type
even after a full engine rebuild many want to pump oil into a oil gallery remember this is unfiltered oil ..but its a good test to make sure oil is getting up to other things ..normally I just crank engine over only as every bearing should be lubed up in the rebuild try and take full advantage of the filters in the system
the turbo is one of the first things to fail considering the turbo can spin up to many thousands of RPM ..this is why its best just to disconnect fuel injection system and crank over engine.. the turbo impellor will only turn a small amount compared to if there was fuel being burnt hence no engine load
I do see your self also trying to be clever with OCD comments and (namecalling )
water off a ducks back mate
