I have a 2.5 Td 110 which has now fractured three injector pipes is this a common problem or am I unique  . tis an old engine in an F reg.

Have fitted copper and cast replacements to same end usually first injector No1. have fitted new injectors but this has not rectified problem.

Could it be a timing problem?

thanks.

Hi Lefty,

I have the 2.5 N/A diesel, which is pretty much the same engine without the turbo and slightly up-rated injection pump. Each of my injection pipes are clipped together with a little metal doo-dah which keeps a gap of about 5mm between each pipe. The clip is on the long stretch where they all run parallel from the pump.

Are you sure you have your tick-over speed set high enough? If the engine is wobbling when its just stood, that wont do your pipes any good, even if they are separated from one another somehow.

Right.

My 110 broke the same pipe twice.

There is meant to be a rubbery clampy thing that fits around the pipes to damped the vibrations. If you want one, I have a couple somewhere, along with 3 sets of pipes if you need any more.

Or else you can do what I did, and knead some of that kneadable rubber stuff you can buy for stuff around the pipes, and then wrap some cable ties on it to keep it there.

Worked fine for me for 8000 miles.
