Things are going well for me, got a roof tent at the weekend, £1400 Myway Evolution for £590, besides the outside cover it looks mint so pretty happy with that. Got a Waeco compressor fridge on eBay too.

All thats left for me to do now is fit the two Odyssey PC1500 batteries, Merlin Smartbank split charge system, two spots on the front (cos y'know, totally need them :D), wire up the inverter, wire up my raptor dashboard and CB radio, and tidy up the wiring for the heated mirrors a bit.

Then she is finally expedition ready! :amen:

Good result on the roof tent mate!! I have so soooo much left to do on mine but I'm in Malta for a few days so it will have to wait haha.

I have no idea where bump is from tbh but seem to remember him coming out with the herts laning mob at some point. I'm up near MK now days anyway so depending on where in bucks your from we could be pretty close. I'm happy to travel wherever.

Haha I have some big old spots on me motor too :) long as you like it mate who cares what others think :).

Yeah, well happy with it :)

I'm in Amersham so MK isn't too far, well when we find out where bump is from we can find a spot a fair distance away for everyone.

You got any sound proofing in the 90? Thinking I might need some!
 
I'm hearing inverters being wired in and huge ones to boot. I've got a small cheapo one I was going to plug into the cigarette lighter just for charging camera batteries etc, will this not be sufficient?

I would have thought so, you could just get a USB cigarette lighter socket jobby for a few quid and charge them off that?

Northampton (near enough) ... but only been here a few months... so... don't remember a trip out with herts laning mob... might have done but i'm a Derbyshire lad so not laned south much... :confused:

MK works for me though... hate the place and work there, but, as long as we can find a pub outside of MK itself that'll do me :) (no offence if you're a MK fan)

How about next Thursday or Friday? Just as an idea...

It was a good buy, been on eBay nearly every day looking so i'm glad it paid off :D I paid £450 for a brand new Waeco CF-40 compressor fridge, retail price is apparently £760, so it's probably off the back of a lorry but there you go :p having said that it's nothing special, it's only going to have beer in it.

Thursday or Friday both work for me, Thursday would be better though.

I'm defo not an MK lad I also hate the place in fact I hate pretty much all towns and cities haha I'm a country lad.

Until recently I was living in Northampton (Blisworth) say recently probably a year ago now. Anyway I'm up for a pub meet wherever you guys decide, funny how we are all pretty close to one another tho.

Where are you renting your fridge from? I hadn't thought about taking one at all :/ will probably rent though as never needed one before now.

Bare in mind that most of them have a mains plug too, so it can double up as a mini fridge at home ;)

Ah good, we're countryside people too (live in a village near Northampton) and have similar views on towns and city's - but - I was once slating MK to someone at work and the person next to them got rather upset as she was born and raised there... so... try to be a bit more careful these days.

Right - Pub meet - somewhere near (but not in) Milton Keynes on Thursday 13th June - meeting around 7:30 pm - we'll probably eat there too...

It would be the end of Sept or October we're going, depending which company we book with.

Read an article about aircon where the expert said avoid it as you dehydrate badly without realising, so better off without it.
There was a great article in Landrover Monthly this month about kitting out a vehicle on a budget for this kind of trip, could be worth you looking at it.
Sounds a great plan, hope to do similar at some point :D

having been in China in very high temperatures, the occasional taxi rides to enjoy the air con in the vehicle (which the taxi drivers have on all the time) was a great relief.

I seriously drink litres and litres of water a day so have no concerns about running air con... i think its all just a myth made up by people without air con ;)

Haha Bump my Gf works in MK and had lived there for many years until she met me, converted to a country girl now haha. Where in MK do you work mate?

I liked living in Northamptonshire but 2hr drive to work was a killer for me. How's the disco prep coming along?

Network Rail - they built a massive place on the old hockey pitch right by the station - quite impressive building, just a ****e choice in location as far as 99% of the staff are concerned. It's the only reason we moved down here. We were happy in Derbyshire, but, meh, Northamptonshire seems nice!

Disco is getting there slowly - it'll be at the pub on Thursday :D Haven't had the guts to take a drill to it yet for the snorkel... the body work is still so shiny!

Yeah my other half knows the place.

I will have me disco there too but it's no fender, I like the disco but have a huge soft spot for a fender. I was looking at snorkels and some proper tyres for the disco the other day :p. has your disco got the air suspension? I was reading in LRM that some of the entry level models and some of the commercials didn't have it. I was under the impression they all had it, I'm thinking of chopping mine in at the end of the year for something else. Maybe another disco or possibly something else landy based haha.
