i know im trying to just concentrate on running and eas bothers me alot though as well

If you can get a slightly older puta with XP and a serial port, you'll be laughing. Vista is the biggest bitch I have known to date.

Yeh, not too bad ta. Gonna take crazyjase up on his offer of supplying guards etc for me car :D Will take a couple of months to get pennies, but I want to seriously start using this thing. Will probably get another one for road use after i get this one sorted :)

i got an old laptop today with serial port i had to but it as i dont know anyone with older laptops so got this one off ebay but it has 98se on it and i think i have to install the .net framework fix before i try it and even then i dont know if it will work on 98se either dont really want to have to buy another laptop!

ok,good idea.what landy is it/how old etc.

It's a 1998 P38 4.6HSE :D

Was looking at a couple of Jase's pics and noticed he had a steering guard on and questioned him about it. He could start up his own business off it tbh. Lots of P38 owners want aftermarket stuff, but can't get it anywhere. Lots of stuff in the US, but they wont ship outside  coconuts.

Stupid thing to ask you now, but have you turned NETWORK DISCOVERY AND FILE SHARING on?

the one with vista. it tends to be turned off by default for some reason. Had major issues when i first got it, but then my handy HND in COmputing came in

what diff would this make hammy for connecting to an obd2 socket?
i have just looked in network and sharing center and all are on and green and set to private as it should be

you CAN connect to networks using your USB cable, but doesnt always work, but vista still sometimes needs it to be turned on, otherwise it wont detect that its connecting to anything, be it USB, Serial or Ethernet. Make sense?

there was yesterday top radiator pipe heading to thermostat was like solid and gonna pop but today i think all pipes feel about the same pressure and no overheating i ran it twice today with filler cap off ill do it once more tomorrow and pipe to radiator from bottle clear as well

finding it difficult to see what your on about hammy sorry? i was never trying to connect the laptops together? if thats what your on about?

No. Sometimes Vista doesnt recognise you've connected it to something unless you tell it basically. Never mind about it. .net framework should get you going.
