Devon is close as the crow flies but slow to get to.
Sadly this issue of "the easy stuff" is happening in the wine making countries too. Red wine is slowly going out of fashion and being replaced by rosé and white.I always like a pint of Adnams when I visit my Mum & Dad. But will try any real ale. Most places will give you a taster if you ask.
But many places are sticking with the "easy" stuff for the trendies .

No chance, that's a very rare tee-shirt, given to me by the MD of the brewery. They were sponsoring the Thames Sailing barge I used to crew on, on one of their corporate sailing days.Should have sent him that with the pack and demanded a photo!
Where did you crew from?No chance, that's a very rare tee-shirt, given to me by the MD of the brewery. They were sponsoring the Thames Sailing barge I used to crew on, on one of their corporate sailing days.
Sailed out of Faversham and Whitstable. Crewed from 1993 to 2016, and then moved back north. Really miss that aspect. Did dozens of the match races, once had the Medway Cup on my mantlepiece. A few channel crossings to Dunkirk, as the barge is one of the Little Ships. Great weekends there. Happy days.Where did you crew from?
I was on the crewing list in the St Katherine's yacht basin club thing. (Can't remember the proper name) and did a photo study of a Thames barge leaving the basin for an exhibit I had to do for my degree.
For once it was a sunny day. Can't be exact about the time but '76/78 roughly.
Who knows I may have a photo of you. (Long stretch I realise!)
