Nope.
We have an expansion "ball" on the solar (closed system). But the hot water tank outlet comes from the top, but not at the top so allows for expansion of the water due to heat. Just like the "ball" I.E has an air space closed system.

But your pic shows a closed system tank so that 250L(?) tank needs expansion into the "ball"
Our 500L buffer tank (heated by solar but separate water) is ATM (open vented to tank)

I only put the pic up as it contains the type of ball I meant, it isn't like our system, we have no boiler.
I'll have to see if I ever took any pics of our system, because I am not sure where the water comes out of the solar tank, I think it is straight out of the top but I could well be wrong. But like you we do have one of those balls connected with a serious, flexible, metal hose. Don't think it is very flexible now!

I am now waiting for Prof Wimblowdriver to explain to me, and any others interested, how he solved the surface area of the ickle sort of triangle.
In rough form ----- us profs work like this :p

"Sir! Sir! I had a feeling it would have something to do with tangents as a line touching a circle is one!"

I'll have to look more closely at this when I have a minute!
Nice to see Sir hasn't lost his red pen!!

Despite being retired nearly 10 years I still keep finding the flipping things! 🤣 🤣 🤣

"which is unpropelled" ...well at least until youz guyz start propelling it!!!
Or tugging/towing it I suppose. Unless you pick it up, carry it somewhere and drop it back down!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

At over 100T dont think we would be lifting it, I set it all up & the other lads towed it/pulled the ropes I was in the noo safety rib boat looking cool. 🤣 🤣
