Thear are some interesting things to see about it in Berlin a good short break trip . But yes you could feel the oppression at the time and the big brother feel had two black full length leather coats following me a couple of times
Shame checkpoint Charlie now is mostly replicated. Wish they could have kept as much original things as poss

One of my dogs has a very dodgy digestion system and the only thing that goes down without leaving me with a dirty mess to clear up and a very dirty dog to wash is steak! Having very long hair does not help with this problem. Fortunately he does not eat a lot of food but what does go in has to be quality. The other is happy with cooked chicken thighs.
So "Senior" food is no good for him then?:(

Twas in fact 120 kgs of apples, so 60 litres of juice next Monday.
Blokey remembered my name without me having to remind him.
Not bad for someone I only see twice a year. Mind you lots are like that round 'ere!
Stinking humid today, wun't be surpised if we have a storm. Teeny bit of rain is forecast.
So having worked all weekend, nearly we is taking today off!
Have a lovely day folks:):):)

We had a camping 'holiday' in East Germany sometime in the '70's and were constantly watched. We had to report to the 'cops' every morning to tell them where we were going on that day and even then, when we returned to the site after a day's sightseeing, we were told that 'they' had been looking for us and we were told to go and report back to them - NOW!

What is now interesting is the mountain of photos that I still have showing life as it was then in Berlin. When we returned to the West I took another lot looking from the west to the east and the Wall was very disturbing, even more so when (from the viewing platforms) you could see the many measure placed in No Man's Land to prevent any escapes. I am sure there were many more that you could not see.

I could write a book about that holiday and no one would believe it! :(

Bloody hell chicken thighs! Steak!...ours get dry dog food, pasta, left over rice and cheap Lidl canned meat and scraps from trimming up meat for us...the only time we had a problem was they changed the formula for the dry and the chew treats we give them easily sorted...
I am left wondering just how you would cope with a dog 'with a problem'.

So "Senior" food is no good for him then?:(
No, sadly. You would not believe how much food and money I have wasted trying to get him able to cope with the problem. The only good thing is that a not-so-local dog rescue place was happy to accept all my cast-offs so much of it did found a willing mouth.

My dad and a mate went on an official Intourist touring holiday to Russia once, it must have been in the mid 70s. They flews over 3000 miles just in the USSR.

They had an Intourist "guide" with them except when they were able to go exploring on their own. He travelled all over Russia and would pop a baby aspirin or a saccarine tablet when with a girl telling them it was "the male pill that he got from the West!"
They changed hotels almost every day, first thing they did was unscrew the mouthpiece (or was it earpiece) on the phone and disconnect the bug!
They always had conversations outside the window so what they said was covered by traffic noise.
They complained that restaurants closed at lunchtimes so the staff could have a lunch break! And came back not wanting to eat I think it was cucumber ever again.

If it started raining, all the cars driving along would stop, their owners would jump out and fit the windscreen wipers, as due to shortages they just couldn't get new ones, so it they left them fitted they would walk!

As you say lots could be and probably is written about it!
