It's light now and the wee dog is out with his 'pillow', sleeping peacefully. It is dry but I don't hold out much hope of seeing the sun today.
Watch out for rats! I would be wary of putting food out on the ground.I chucked a couple of slices of out of date bread on the lawn for the spuggies yesterday but the dog got there first and scoffed it all. Greedy little git.
We got mice. They thrive on the bits the birds drop at the feeders. They also climb up the wall behind the feeders but can't reach across to get at the seed. Don't mind them at all, they are part of the ecosystem and have their place in the food chain.Watch out for rats! I would be wary of putting food out on the ground.
We have fun watching the mice and the voles clearing up the bits that have dropped on the ground but it is the rats who follow that I find scary because of the diseases they carry. One quickly became two, which quickly became five, all within a very short time! I do not like using poison but had to although that was ineffective so it had to be 'a man with a gun'.We got mice. Friends of mine were getting quite concerned about the number of sacks of peanuts their birds where needing and blamed each other for putting too many out at a time. A couple of years later when they were clearing out one of their sheds for a house move , they found two of his old wellies brim full of peanuts! Mystery solved.Little bastards crapped in my crash helmet I had in the garage last year
Boiler gone again?Eye be ear un cold
Had bad experience with that. The rats crawl off to die slowly and painfully, one got under my site office once and another time I was lodging in a farm house in Devon and one got under the floor boards. Both times STANK the place out for weeks, you never forget the smell. Or the flies which follow.I do not like using poison but had to
