Wot does we fink about air rating yer grass? Edgar finks we should do it. Poking spikes in yer grass to help it. Yer can get spike fings that go on yer shoes. Spikes on poles or rolling fings wiv spikes. Does yer air rate yer grass?
I spiked the front grass (not worthy of being called a lawn) at Wimblowdriver Towers last year. Used a garding fork. Then pulled a few weeds and over seeded it. It looks a lot better now, I think the spiking did help a lot. I have a constant battle with weeds which spread at the surface and take a lot of hard work to keep down. Moss has been raked out at the back grass, annually, with a leccy rake thing but it leaves it a bit bare and has to be overseeded. It also looks a lot better this year, weeds are hardly evident. For the last couple of years I have left the moss alone, on the theory that it holds water and benefits the grass in dry weather (like now) - and it's green! But this weekend I have a 20kg bag of Nutrigrow Feed Weed & Moss Killer, which is enough for a couple of years treatment. I'll see how it goes -----

[Should have bought a tratter, no washing required possible, as the water ends up inside]

Very Eco friendly is tratters. Rain water washes the outside, water runs inside and washes the floor, runs out of the holes and washes the chassis.

This is what happens to a Freelander when it sees a drop of rain -----

Helps the water to get into the soil rather than wash off or wash the soil away (erosion) ...

Morning All. :D
A shopping day. :(
Wifey is having a terrible time getting a "sample" from the old gal. :(
Despite writing it up in BIG LETTERS on a note on the door, the old baggage just ignores it all. :(
The old gal has a nasty and persistent UTI and the medics are beating up on my wife because there is no "sample" for testing.
Not a lot we can do if she's non-compliant, but it is dragging my missus down. :(
Hey-ho, have a good day. :D

Ask the Doc to refer to District Nurse Urinary Team, they'll get a sample, it's part of their remit ...

Looks like that is just a cleaner/degreaser.Amazed it works.
I know you can get stuff for removing decals etc, just didn't hunt it up as I was already doing the job albeit slowly. I have just looked on line and there is an awful lot of bollix talked about it. It might work e.g.WD40 on a sticker that has not been baked on for years as might "rubbing alcohol" but there are two problems, one being that the sticker is plastic so you cannot get underneath it or through it without removing it, second if you scratch its "surface" with a wire brush or summit you scratch the pain below too.
But yes there is stuff on the market like "googone" etc.

A hot air gun would deffo have been good. At this rate I'll end up buying yet another one. At least the first one was a "KEVBUY" i.e it cost me nowt!!

As I said before a kettle of hot water, pour some on one edge, pick at it to lift edge, keep pouring little and often to heat sections and peel away ...

I should have asked on here to find this out.
As is often the case, it was a job I had never had problems with before. I asked on the WWW and they didn't come up with anything I had to hand. Heat gun lost, I just persevered.

Yessdi the blasted Bosch mulcher ground to a halt yet again. Feeding it with branches of laurel. The switch was dodgy last time I used it. Grr.
So I wasn't able to mulch as much stuff as I wanted to, to take down the tip.
Conscious of the forthcoming not so good weather, and the weekend plus Monday being awful for queues there, (Monday is when they change the huge bin things and when they do that they have to empty the yard of peeps and keep them out until the job is done.) So I went today. Sod's law got there just as they were changing a bin, so had to queue for quite a while. Still, got rid of a gallon of used oil and hung on to the container as I weirdly don't have any empties!
Back home checked and topped up both axles. Rear needed a bit front not a drop. Makes me wonder what I had done about it when I had to replace it, it did have a brass plug in so I suspect I did top it up, hey ho.
Fiddled around with my dash cam and its SD card. Wish the thing was more predictable. I have a feeling it constantly loses the time thus making it not a lot of use in a court of law. W's is permanently wired in and keeps all its date stuff very well. Mine plugs into the cigar lighter.
Weather far too good.
Still got to check all tyre pressures including the trailer.
also Yessdi I managed to replace the seal on the front sunroof in it's housing. Water gets in somewhere, could be anywhere TBH. Didn't blow through the drain tubes, as I have yet to get the compressor up and sorted for tyres etc.
W very off colour at the mo. TBH I wish she would be persuaded to stay in the UK until after her op, not that I want to stay here any longer than necessary, but even if we did stay the 4 weeks there is no guarantee that she'd get the second op. No fun at all really, as she is in a lot of pain with it a lot of the time.
Still, have a good evening folks!
:):):)

One good thing, while I was underneath doing the front axle I had a good look at the damage done to the underside of the front of the front fender/spoiler/valance thing, where the fog light should be. Should tell you the truck came to me with this back in 2014!
Was happy to see that fixing it with my new plastic stapling tool should be really quite easy. I'd really like to have two working foglights. :):)

Evening
Problem with the old truck today
Switched all the switches the right way, flicked the glow plugs on and waited. Then switched my secret switch on and turned the key, nowt, zilch not a flicker.
Commenced to check battery connections, lights didn't dim when key turned to start I was at a loss.
I put the battery on charge just in case and started to take the dash off to check the wiring, took me two hours to find the problem and only then because my mate called and helped
