Been decorating all day, my mate gave me a paint sprayer wot a pile of doodoo  Spent about an hour thinned down the paint
then tried it on some cardboard was like when you've had Ruby Murray n pebbled dashed the pan. 🤣🤣

Stripped the gun down & it wasnt cleaned properly the nosel (spelling) ?? was choaked put it back together then it wouldnt
power up.. changed fuse rewired the plug as it was a tad corroded & still no power. :( Now id wasted an hour n was fed up
as I could have had an hours painting with a roller. Anyhoo just the glossing to do might leave it till next week as im back at
work the misses will do it. 🤣🤣
Wot a waist of thyme!
As if yor spellin woz a prablem. I seriously choaked at yor spellin of nozzle,
Also at the fact you paintz the worls be4 the gloss!!!

New neeb's bloke put up 2" of maksing tape around the woodwuk, his wimmins still manidged to get it on the worls!
Eye arst him "did shee ooze a 3" brush?!" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Eye ave one o them warm air paint spraiyin things, lent it to a mate who returned it with the gon nozzle off set cos he'd bruck the lickle tabbs that keep it strait.

Never lend a tool they say. Quite right!!

(apparently it sprayed the tank of his motybike very well tho. )🤣

Been looking for a carrier so as I can have battery bolted to the chassis, looks like I'll have to make one
Battery is 7" x 14"
Can only find small expensive ones :(
Kit car builders have to do summat like this. We tend to just use a coupla long studs with hooks on the end, drill two holes in the ends of a piece of angle iron. Make holes where you want em, then pop the hooks in them, top end in the angle iron, a couple of lock nuts, Bob's yer aunty!
But then we do leave special places in the under bonnet area with this intent.

For boats we make a frame/mount out of angle bar (usually stainless) then sit a plastic marine battery box in the frame & bolt it
on then use a webbing strap to stop the battery moving. :) Truck may need tie bar across to secure it.(instead of a strap)
Like you, I should have read to the end of the thread, this is sooo similar!

A little blast was enjoyed. :D
It still doesn't feel right. I have put in a request for a chat to the local tuning man. :)
I am sure the DWP can afford it next month. :)
Can you be a bit more specific about how it feels wrong?

And by the way, I had mine on a rolling road, paid lots of dosh for it, the guy did change the needle a few times and the readings he gave me were very good.
But it never drove as well as I felt it should, although it sure did go quick. And he was allegedly a Mini specialist, which is why I took it to him.
I think so many of these tuning artists just do it for those who wish to race them, not use them as daily drivers. :(

Hard to express. Put your foot down in low RPM's and it is sluggish and sometimes we get the dreaded detonation in the inlet.
Press gently and it gradually picks up and then the cycle repeats for your next gear change occasion. BUT, have it revving nicely and it will keep pulling. e.g. Up a big mile long local hill I was doing 50 in 4th gear and it still wanted to pull.
Summat isn't right and I don't want to just keep throwing more petrol in the bores as I have no idea what the AFR is, or if it is still a timing issue.

I have suggested this before, but I am going to suggest it again.
Pull the vacuum advance tube off the distributor, and drive it. See what difference it makes.
It could get better or worse.
But try driving it just as you mentioned in the three ways above, If it is no different you will know that the vacuum advance isn't worth poop.
OR you are not getting the vacuum you need.
