Afternoon all.
Up bright an early, to go to Lunnen, visa place. Trip up was OK.
They looked after us very well we didn't have to queue. One slight hiccup, don't know exactly what it was, blokey showed me a barcode on an application and said it had been "mixed up". I have no idea what happened or why it happened but they sorted it out anyway.
They made special efforts to check everything was right so they didn't have to call us, and particularly W, back in.
As, for the first time, I will be collecting both our passports once done, we had to fill in forms which turned out to be some form of "power of attorney". they have never done this before.:stars:
Previously the person whose passport you were picking up just had to write a letter consenting and you had to turn up with it and a photocopy of their driving licence, or one of their old passports or summat.
Anyway, done now, big "phew".
Everyone we talked to including the personnel up there agreed that their website was poop. It really is time someone sorted it out.
So got back home to discover that W has to be in hospital next week 3 3/4 hours earlier, at 0715, and thus we presume all the cleaning her out stuff will have to be taken that much earlier i.e. some of it in the middle of the night or very early morning.:confused::confused:
She was also told that they apologised but..... and even after all this they cannot guarantee that she will be operated on.:mad:
and of course if she fails to do anything then she'll be taken off the waiting list.
It is if they want to punish her for ....
No, doubt it, but it FEELS like it.
And one of the dogs had decorated the parts of the house she could get to with little bits of poop, even on vertical surfaces. Including stairs and landing.
I had to bath her while W did the Augean Stables act. Yuk! None of any of our dogs has ever done this before, EVER.
Still, the sun shone all day and the pain au chocolat taken in the coffee place outside the visa place really did taste French, the coffee and the hot chocolate were also nice.
Not so funny was handling W in her wheel chair on escalators as the lift in the shopping centre where we park was bust. Getting on one isn't too bad, it is the getting off!!.:eek::eek:
Enjoy your evenings folk!
:):):)

There isnt day that goes by that I dont think about cancer.
Mate that is so sad.
Understand completely, but still, so very sad.
W worries all day long about anything and everything, I bet she too worries about the one she had, even though she has been clear for years.
It is a horrible thing.
Feel for you.:(:(

Hey up!
A good thing!:):):)
Yessdi I finally managed to download some pics from my phone onto a pooter via a wire and USB sockets.
I'd tried this in France before and even my neighbour, who worked donkey's years for Orange and seems to be a real whizz on mobile phones and stuff, couldn't make it do it.
I searched around ont web and someone said that you have to tell your phone what to do with its USB socket
What the HECK??? A smart phone doesn't know, when a lappy is asking to download pics n stuff???
Well apparently not, so once I found the "switch" I was able to do the biz.:cool::cool:
Still cannot download SMS s, or other bits of data, but this is a start.
Shame so many of the pics were poor quality, but what does anyone expect from a phone's camera!
