OUCH!
I got my noo pooter for christmas and burday combined.
But as I unwrapped it in Yorkshire it has stayed unused until now. And I still haven't switched it on.
I also got bort Windows 11 at a huge price.
Now!
Do I dare install it or not?

Looks like I am going to have to do some research.:mad::mad::mad:
Are you broadband? then connect the computer as normal. There will be a pre installed operating system for you add your internet connection details. You will have blue screen asking next instruction for installation. I believe windows 11 can take an age to load over 10gb and install.

Take it easy WL!
Oh aye rather close 🥰 do you wish for group hugs

For many years peeps have bin told rover started buildering tratters because rover car sales dropped during and after the war. They did. They talk of the design origins but dun't always give the full detail. If yer fink about it the designers were blokes. 20+ years before that they were children. Times were hard. Yer gorra apple fer crispmus if yer lucky. Toof fairy were shint. So yer had to make do. In thems days yer could often find a tin box int house. They din't have plastic in them days. Said box were ideal fer converting into toys. 4 oles, 2 sticks and 4 pebbles made yer first toy car. Roll on 20 years and they built a full size one. Inspuration from their yoof. Yhe first of many prototype Freelanders was born'd.
wasn't born it was secreted 💩

Been out to mum n dads today, mum is waiting on her other hip replacement appointment as she can hardly walk
cause the bones are rubbing together & she is in a a lot of pain. :( Think she is more peed off at my dad doing the shopping
as he will only get whats on the list (nowt else) & gets grumpy when he cant find stuff so gets something similar.
We made them up a big crimbo hamper so they were well chuffed. :)

Well I guess you must've worked out we is back.;)
The week was brill, mostly because the weather was mostly brill too.
We started off with overnight snow, which made the whole place look lovely, then for most of the rest of the week we had bright sunshine, very rare, Except for yessdi when we had fog all the way from where we were staying to Thirsk, but it didn't matter as we spent most of the time in the James Herriot place, which was the house he lived in and worked out of for years. An extremely well put together and informative place to visit.
I managed to take a lot of decent photos but this isn't the place really for them, so I'll put the best ones up on the photography thread and then put a link up to it on here.
Only slight problem is that the Disco's gearbox started acting a little weird. It worked OK, but behaved funny.
Being an auto I'll do a torque converter test and take it from there.
In the Dales there are some amazing gradients, so one day, in Coverdale, where there is a 25% gradient, I decided to try out the Hill Descent Control. So I set it up, and it made more noises than Colonel Bloodknock's stomach! I don't think in it's entire 24 years of life anyone had ever asked it to perform. So I stopped and put it all back to normal!
We've rebooked for Christmas 2026 as 2025 is already booked for Cornwall.

It'll be interesting to meet up again with their 2 pet lambs, Waffle and Pancake. 🤣

Nice to see that so many of you seem to have had a good Christmas. :):):)

Do custom install to pare out the bloatware ..
