How much does yer pay for yer house contents and builderings insurance? Mine has gone up to 226 sovs. Based on 75k contents. 340k castle rebuild cost. This be the 7th time eye has taken oot this type of insurance. Eye ain't hadder claim before.
Huh! Wish we paid as little as that!! even for just one place!
But then we iz away 6 mumfs of the year!
And we have to pay simla for tother place.

(First world problem sho nuff!);)

It dun't happen inside the uk as our items are mostly bar coded so know what they is. Items that ain't dun't miss oot because we charge vat on total spent, if the seller is vat registered. Yer could setup a till that scans bottles to identyfy them and add up the import tax and vat.

They will want to charge for booze coming into the uk to protect our own markets. Several options. If they can identify it or cross reference it to a look up table then they can charge on a scale. If not then charge per bottle fixed rate or by type, vine or beer etc, is a simple alternative. Wot ever method they use needs to be easy to carry oot at the docks.

Eye dun't know wot options they will use.
To answer your last line, nor do we, so far we haven't had to find out and we sincerely hope we don't!
In any "case" it'll only be starting next year.
If we do get checked next year I'll let you all know. That is if we bring back a lot of vin next year, we may not, but then again we prolly will as we always seem to need to!
I note that this is all designed, i.e. the bar and QR coding, for use inside the EU. so they may well not give a monkeys about the alc content for buying, selling and transporting around the EU.

I am not sure it is done to protect our own markets, we don't exactly make a lot of red wine in the UK. I think it is quite simply, as it always has been, yet another way of taxing the drinking classes.
As I have tried to explain, the look up table would have to be massive and constantly updated.
It is too late now as we aren't going to any more vineyards but next time we go to one I'll ask them about it, and hope that can answer once their roll eyes have finished. Cos I bet most of the small ones will see it as justa nother complete pain in the rear.
In fact I may email one as they are more or less friends now. ;)

Up at stoopid o'clock this a.m. to deliver, and stay with as translator, W at her hurdressurs. They didi a great job as usual and I was really not needed, though it was nice to chat to the owner.
Home for brekfus and all them puzzlez!!
Must feed the hens now.
Weather very over cast and a right pain as we have so much to do outside before going back.

See yez! :):):)

OK, No trig needed possible because no lengths are stated.
Pure geometry problem.
D is 80° therefore the other side of D (BDA) is 100°.
Angle BAE is 70°
Angle BCA must be 50°
A-D and D-E must be equal (each is rooted on a 10° angle to a vertical line).
So angle ECD and ACD must be equal. So X is 25° (half of angle BCA).

Best answer I have.

So I woz right first time then? Flipping miracle.
I wasn't sure that A-D and D-E would be equal as although the angle was bisected, the triangle is not isoceles, so if the sides are of different lengths then the two bits of A-E might not be the same, hence my remark.

Eventually I'll cheat and look it all up on the site the puzzle comes from. ;)

This one is for @kevstar primarily, seeing as he has done it recently. But I laughed until the tears ran down my face, then asked the question! At the bottom.

"Just to put a toe in the water so to speak , In November I will be replacing my kitchen , therefore I wonder as it is in good condition ,made by a company called Elizabeth Anne , shaker styleIncluding a matching Neff dishwasher. Is any one interested in having it for about £1 ,500 Ono? Photos will appear , viewing always available.
