Mmmmm…..zyder, mai ansum…..
I wish and so does W as it is her favourite tipple when going to the pub!
But we make it into apple juice, or rather the applecrusher guy does and he pasteurises it so I don't think you can make zyder from it like that.

We haven't got the gear here, or the room, :( :( :( to make it into zyder, even if we could persuade him to just press it and give us the juice.

I wasn't complaining just pointing out, We are too young to claim:banana::banana: and you lot benefit from our tax payments;).

Now that really is a thing to think about if you have your own pension already, is it worth the extra £1 when you could invest the money elsewhere? and that income could continue after you have been BBQed. Not getting political, cos to be honest We don't care (although we do) in our position.

If you continue to work (or support yourself) deferring your state pension can make a diff too.

But as far as I am concerned after the last gov comments about the state pension being a benefit then more people will just spend their money as they will get it in other benefits at the end of the day so why should they try and support themselves?

Anyway sorry political rant over, or was it?

W deferred her state pension until 3 years beyond retirement age so she gets extra pension to what she would hav done if she claimed it AND if she dies before me (as she is 8 years older then me she just might) then I will inherit it, the extra I mean, and get it until I die.

Aesthetics count for a lot:D.

Some don't see that (we have the same here).

It was a great quiz why we wanted the window (it was on the plan) it went window, window, door, window, new window. they could not understand the need;).

If it looks right it don't matter if there are some "not so level/square places" I have compromised on many;).

One of the odd and annoying things about our place over here is that they put a window in the stairwell. Being a typical frog place the stair goes straight for a bit then goes spiral then straight again. You would think that they would put it where you could open it easily. and see out of it, but no. It is very high up, you have to use a broom handle to open and close it and you can see out of it, from the top landing!

TBH we didn't really think about it when we took the house on, we had far too much else to do, like fitting the bog to start with.🤣, but we really ought to have added it to the "snagging" list and got it repositioned. (They'd have loved that. )

We had a big dormer put in upstairs with doors to the terrace and they couldn’t understand why I got a bit un hinged when they wanted to put the big patio doors directly underneath about 6 inches off center 🫣.
The explanation was, “well who’s going to notice”.

Well I didn't want to open up another load of conflab and I can't remember your original post but I think I broadly agreed with it and also your above post.

I'm not taking any pensions yet and will probably never truly retire, both occupational schemes are old and tiny and the personal one isn't great. In fact I'm thinking of contributing to it again using the spare money gained from no longer paying the premiums on two life assurance policies (one each) which expired and couldn't be extended. Better use of the money.

Too young to get state pension and its been moved back a few times, probably won't get it till I'm 70 at this rate but the NI top up is not a lot of money and all the above will be a collection of small incomes which could add up to something OK.

I don't consider the state pension to be a benefit, its already fairly low by many standards and I feel the whole scheme is badly managed with no form of investment and payments just coming out of today's tax revenue. Not sustainable in the long-term.

Just to say thanks for the advice, on how to remove our little Landrover from a local vicarage tree canopy. My wife Marjorie is extremely grateful to Bob Sticle, for parking his double decker bus next to tree for us escape onto.
The trick of using a open tin of tuna under the tree, let our cats tempt the trek from our little Landrover down the tree. Unfortunately the dog Sid panicked, causing the release of our flock of geese from the cages we had in the back.
Since my back operation recently, my wife Marjorie driving lessons helped me a lot on the farm at Stench village near Bolton.
Once again thanks again everyone😁
