Nope. Thorn from a pyracantha, got a hedge of them planted on one of me boundaries which I was tidying up at the weekend. Had a few goes at extracting it with tweezers but its too small and too deep to get hold of.

TBH I'd rather be doing that than grubbing around in the dirt trying to bang two pointed nails into branches while holding chainlink and persuading the rest of the roll to not wind round me like a turkey trussing machine! I wonder who else uses rope while doing this job!!

The afternoon was more pleasant. spent working on my big weed whacker/mulcher. I do not have a Bowden cable oiler, and was thus forced to muck around a bit before I could come up with a way of jamming the big machine so its handles were up vertical between the tailgate of the Disco and the rest of the rear of the vehicle. So a lot of patience, spraying tiny quantities of lubricant into the top of the outer where the wire enters then working it back and forth.
I then stripped the machine down from the top to get to the exhaust and its protector which have rather come too hard into contact with something. I took the protector off, tightened the exhaust back onto the engine, which I didn't even realise needed doing, rescued the broken bits and am now going to have a wee bash at straightening them. No idea of the cost of new, I'll buy one if cheap enough. Otherwise a mate in the village would probably weld at least one of the brackets back up, but he only has stick so may not be able to handle the other damage. We'll see.
So once back together the thing that locks the deck into each of its 4 positions is now working and it runs sweet, no better but no worse than before even without the protection. Tis only dangerous if kids or dogs get too near to it and touch the exhaust which is inside the frame anyway. Took longer than expected but was sort of therapeutic.
