Me too tax for pension should be scrapped 😣
You won't like me for saying this but just because one has reached a certain age and retired I don't see why one should stop paying tax if one is within the bracket(s). If one didn't then who would be paying more to catch up? Imagine if one had pensions adding up to say £100k, would it still be fair to pay no tax?
Just sayin!

(Put in posh English to not offend!)

We pay tax , even though we are non resident, hope we don't reach the 40% bracket when we finally get our pensions :(.

I sort of begrudge paying tax on saved money that was taxed when I earned it, but then was put to good use only to be taxed again on our hard work.

J
I get that, but my occupational pension payments in were not taxed so I saved then.
Working, earning money, getting taxed on it, saving it, getting taxed on income from it, using it to finance another income stream like buy to let, then getting taxed on it again. Paying VAT on everything, to say nothing of duty on booze etc and when you pop your clogs your inheritees get to pay tax on what you want to give them.
Tis harsh.

Oh dear that don't sound good.

Had a Scots girlfriend once, when I lived in Poole. (I think she came from the East coast, but not sure.)
Anyway she had a brother in the army back a longish ways now, 70s mebbe. He finished a tour in NI and was coming back with his regiment on an aircraft carrier(?). They were told not to go walking around on certain decks. Well a few did, he was one of them, and he was lost overboard. So no body, nuffin. Really sad. 😥

So hope he has just gone AWOL wiv sum burd and eventually turns up. 🤞🤞🤞

Still not found him apparently he's walked into the water at the old Craigendoran pier, there has been loads of people
done this over the years. :(:(

Used to look like this.............

Put me nooker table cover back int washing machine. Came oot wiv very dark brown flakes onnit so eye put a quick wash on wiv arf a litre of white vinagar innit. Then told it to do a rinse finking it would wash oot again. Then put me cover back onna wash. Same again. Put it on the line to dry. This time eye wiped me small car detailing brush onnit to knock the flakes oft both sides. Run oot of e7 cheap time so will test it wiv a dark wash morra.

Still coming down from yesterday's fury at trying to get to the bottom of why my chainsaw peas chain oil out as fast as I fill it.
It has always been a bit leaky, as many are, but this was ridiculous, it wasn't holding any.
So tried to strip it down to get to the tank, pipe, seals etc.
(Chain oil is even worse than ATF, SO yuk to work with, gets everywhere and has to continually be cleaned up and off hands, tools worksurface etc.)
Well of course the whole thing was a voyage of discovery. To undo one screw in a panel which may or may not have been covering the tank, I had to remove half of the handle where the trigger and it's safety lock are. And that is where the fun started. A spring and how to fit it to the safety lock wasn't obvious. Of course it sprang out as soon as I very carefully took the two halves apart. Flipped about for ages and ages trying to figure out how to make it work and put it back together. It was not obvious at all.

When "ping" the spring shot off into the wild blue yonder.
Yes I was working outside, no way I could do a dirty job like that inside, no proper workshop with good light as we are so short of room. The spring is about 3 inches long, not a coil spring just a thin spring wire, and it is black. and the weeds nearby haven't been cut so they are about 2 foot high.
No chance of finding it.

Titan TTL632CHN if anyone is interested or knows what I am on about.
So cheap I will prolly end up buying another. No one over here is likely to fix it for much less than the price of a noo one. This seems to be the country where I am forever having to fix things I know nothing much about.

A shame as it is a good machine when working, Easy to work on as regards the chain, sharpening etc, starts very easily and cuts well.

For the mo I am just going to rely on pouring a bit of chain oil onto the chain and bar from time to time, but that is not ideal, won't be doing the bar any good and will make any job take far more time. Wouldn't be so bothered except it is still very cold here in the evenings and we need the logs cut to burn.

Anyway, have a nice sunday peeps!!:):):)
