Sun has been mostly out today. We are toasty inside. still white stuff outside its not all melted yet.
Watch out for the wind and all those things with Ladies names they can mess up your hair.

Is there no tension ajustment would have th out you need that when the belt wears or stretches...that I was impatient and decided to put the motor on it's hanger ready for putting in the lathe.
I struggled to get the motor back on its hanging bracket and I am not sure the replacement belt I bought will be tight enough.
I measured the outer circumference of the old belt and ordered that size. When you lie the two belts on top of each other they are identical, but I have doubts on the belt tension.
The motor cradle is positioned exactly back where it came from on the hanger (I drew round it with a sharpie before taking it off in the first place). We shall see.
I love his stuff and used to be able to do a good impression of him, have all his songs on disc including the ones he made in French. He lived in Lille, like I did, played rugby like I did, only with the wrong number of players! He was also a teacher although of English not French.

I got Dad a sim only contract with GiffGaff, £6 per month on an old NokiaSo sorry to hear about this, have often wondered what would happen in just that situation.
In France we often have to supply a FRENCH mobile phone number so we can be contacted by a driver of a delivery vehicle. I have in the past had a French mobile but I never use it and if you buy a pay-as-you-go card for it, you HAVE to keep using it or the number drops off, even if there is money on the SIM. If you let the money run out you are bugred and have to buy a new SIM. so in order to be able to get the delivery I give them an old number.
HOWEVER, I would say that in your interests and to stay safe when travelling, it is still a good idea to get a cheap mobile phone, doesn't even need to have a camera on it, with something like a Tesco mobile phone card in it. It'll cost you peanuts and the money on the SIM will stay as it is. no need to keep topping it up. THEN you could take it with you purely when travelling and could use it if you break down, or have some other emergency, which is why both of us ever got our first mobile phones. TBH this is more or less all I carry mine for. At least my original Motorola. I leave it in the cubby box of the Disco.

(My other mobile I only got because we had to have proof of Covid vaccination when we went over there and wanted to go to restaurants, outdoor jazz concerts etc. Sadly this now has to be used when abroad to sanction payments of highish value with my Halifax card. Also a bit handy when travelling and staying in hotels, or with friends, with Wi-Fi.)
I think everyone knows how much I hate mobile phones and I admire your stance and your bravery in going sans-mobile in your everyday life!

Assuming everyone has a smart phone is like assuming everyone has a car or credit or debit card.
Satdi night our son in law was going to split the dinner bill with us, he produced £95 in notes, we got the credit card out. The waiter came over and said to S-i-l "Sorry Sir, card only". Which fortunately we knew. So he had to give us the cash and we paid the bill.
As you say it is for the convenience of the company not the customer.

Sack barrow, door sidewaysI don't know how much it was in total but it was "everything" in her current account except the last small amount because they ran their scam that had taken out successive £15.99 amounts and it returned "Insufficient funds" when it got to below £15 balance so it failed.
I couldn't walk the door unfortunately so I had to lift it as close to my body as I could to get it sideways down the side of the house (narrow path). I have no idea what it weighs but its 6 foot by 3 foot and solid 1" matching redwood T&G so a bit like lifting a small breakfast table I guess. I'm feeling it now, but maybe it will be OK tomorrow. Thanks for the good thoughts.

No, not on the motor to pulley layshaft. Only on the distance between the two pulley cones from the layshaft to the final drive shaft. Maybe it will be fine, or I get the next smaller-size belt.
