But you have got to shave your legs or thay make you all itchySilk stockings. Leather. Wotever next?
Dont knock it till you tried it, as the saying goes .Silk stockings. Leather. Wotever next?
If it has a 3 phase motor then yes.Would that work on a record wood lathe ??
Shaves his legs anotl.Silk stockings. Leather. Wotever next?
It's single phase 230 v but I am looking to convert it to variable speed adjustment? If it has a 3 phase motor then yes.
I admire your attitude.I have got as far as looking to see how straight wood is at wix and b&q. That is it. Wix was bent in both directions and the pile doesn't drop so no peeps buying it. B&q are flogging 50 sheets a week. When they have about 98 theres a fresh pile. They sit theirs ont floor on 4 wooden strips. Only the botton ones bend a bit. I assume when they forky picks them up. Wix is on a 2 bar shelf so they bend in storage.
Eye us buildering an 8x4 nooker table on top of a 6x2.5 foot table. So the ends will over hang by a foot. Plus another foot when it slides. How to keep the main table sheet of mdf flat is a problem. Eye has come up wiv the idear of supports holding it up, hinged on the 6 foot ends. And thats it so far. Just finking.
Sean Connery says they should be Shilk, and never Shatin. ;-)Not normally no

What's the full ...0 Varying the speed pot? A bit counter intuitive to be clockwise to decrease?I made some for my two lathes and this one for a mate.

You lose torque on single phase when adjusting the speed via the frequency. It's single phase 230 v but I am looking to convert it to variable speed adjustment?
It was for a friend who wanted it that way. My personal ones are clockwise to increase etc. What's the full ...0 Varying the speed pot? A bit counter intuitive to be clockwise to decrease?
I know this is very cheeky, but have you got a parts list/source of parts?
It would save me lot of time/trial & error.
TIA. Dan.
Dining table version pop up on ebay. Several companies making them. I have a work table from wuk to build mine on. Steel rectangle frame wiv 4 steel legs. Harf inch strong chipboard like sheet of wood on top. It will stay in the room where it is. No other use for that room at the moment.I admire your attitude.
What I'd really like to find is one of those dining tables that converts into a snooker table. Only ever seen two in my life. One in a flat in London and another on TV that prog Money for nothing or summat. In one case the dining table bit just lifted off the top of the snooker table and was put to one side, in the other the table rotated so there was the dining part on one side and the snooker part on the other. So in both cases each table was the same size.
Do you need to keep the basic table part for something? If not you could make a basic chassis out of box section, fit it to your table base and fit the top to that.
I have never looked for a secondhand table, so I don't know how easy they are to find, and I have a horrible feeling that full size ones might be easier to come buy as my ex s-i-l has found them and chopped them up for the hardwood. But if you could find a proper half size one it'd have a proper slate bed. When I was at school we got hold of one and put it together. The bits of slate were as heavy as heck but they sure gave a good surface.
I bet @kevstar could get one if he put his mind to it!!!

And that's before the lathe is running too!...that at £136 this week's energy costs have been a bit high.
